But its not a sign. Obviously, theyre not fluent yet. But about onethird of the kids here know enough to navigate a kindergarten conversation. Like when mori didnt notice the line was moving. And the girl told her to walk. Its not like the administration is man dadating this. This is bottomup kindness, students motivated by nothing more than their own deep desire to connect with this one, little girl. What they know, they learn mostly from posters, books, watching moris aide and teaching each other. They want to do as much as they can for her. We want her to feel comfortable and safe and be able to make friends with her. Its like if you got a gift basket. Shes a little gift basket. Flowers and chocolate. This little bundle of joy. Reporter eventually, moris parents say she may need more support services. But what she needs now is what she has here, a loving community.
