Brisbane based indian therapeutics conducted a study with 554 patients aged 417 with severe peanut allergies. Patients were gradually given daily doses of peanut protein powder sprinkled over there food. The patients in the study had a severe allergy and couldnt consume more than 30 milligrams of peanut protein to begin. Of those who completed the study, 96 of the patients were able to tolerate 300 milligrams of peanut protein during exit study. This is exciting because there will be fda approved options for children to be able to get desensitized to peanuts. Reporter immunotherapeutic supply for fasttrack fda approval by the end of 2018, they hope to be approved in europe by the end of 2019. By the end of the study, half of the patients could consume twofor peanuts with little to no adverse reaction. That means that they will have largely per section reporter they will be largely protected for accidental exposure which is what we are going for.
