Well, in other news, bart employees were beaten at two different stations last night. The first one happened at the ashby station in berkeley after 4 in the afternoon. The second at lake merritt in oakland before 5 30. Two men were arrested. There is no word why the men allegedly attacked the transit officers there. They are now banned from any bart station for 30 days to a year. Its been four months since a devastating firestorm tore through the north bay and residents are still not able to go home. Reporter months after the firestorm reduced much of it to ash the Mobile Home Park in santa rosa is balancing on a razors edge between ruin and recovery. I am an old lady with a bunch of stuff and a kitty and absolutely nowhere to go as of friday morning. Reporter Pamela Taylor joined dozens of neighbors at a Community Meeting this morning hoping to learn when she might be able to return home. But the news was not good. The owner of the Mobile Home Park says it could be months or years before they can rebuild or reopen. The infrastructure at the park was destroyed. All of the well systems were destroyed. The transformers that provided power for the utilities were destroyed. Reporter 44 mobile homes survived the fire. But without gas or water or power the houses have been red tagged and residents barred from returning. We have to go home. We cant make it. Thats our home. Thats our natural instinct, to go there. Reporter michelle trammells home survived as well, but she and her 71year old mother struggle to find a permanent place to stay until the park reopens. Because her home is intact, she has little to no help from her insurance. I am going to take my home, i dont want to live in a homeless encampment. Reporter the parks owner wants to provide affordable housing. Right now the road home for residents is filled with obstacles and uncertainty. To have all of those people that i care about, that weve tried to provide affording housing to for over 50 years, suddenly become homeless, its emotional for us. The National Weather service issued an advisory about gusty offshore winds over mountains in the north bay today. Not that dublin is the north bay exactly. The winds are expected from late morning to the early part of tonight. The strongest in northern sonoma and napa counties. No surprise that we have offshore winds that are prompting those wind advisories. So gusty winds in the north bay tonight, especially at upper elevations. Not a huge deal. The strongest gusts might reach 50 Miles Per Hour as of 5 00 tonight. The strongest ones are about 25.
