Heres a live look now over at lake curry. This is our mount vaca camera. Its dry. This is the beach. We have no rain in the forecast. You can hit the beach and enjoy the beautiful weekend. More sunshine for all of to you enjoy. Our temperatures are going to be warm today. Tomorrow they will cool down slightly. So we have had 51 records set for february. Various cities record highs. No records today. A windy weekend in store especially for saturday from the morning to nighttime. Temperatures already in the 70s. 74 for concord. Oakland 63. Livermore at 72. Same with San Francisco. So its pretty warm now. This is where we should be. Our temperatures that are normal conditions, we are already surpassing that even at this noon hour. And then your afternoon highs look like this. 10 to 18 degrees above average. So throughout our area, heres a look at some of your neighborhoods to see what the temperatures will be like this afternoon. 73 for fremont. 75 in livermore. Sunset tonight at 5 42. Sunrise tomorrow morning at 7 04 a. M. The sun rises have been gorgeous because of those Clear Conditions out there. This High Pressure ridge is going to start to weaken. Its been weakening so thats why our temperatures are slightly cooler than yesterday. And our trough is going to dip down. As that comes down, its actually going to increase our winds. So unfortunately, we are not going to see any rain here. But what we are going to see is an increase in wind and it is a dry wind. That offshore flow. So gusts could be up to 50 miles an hour. The Winter Weather advisory is impacting our area in the north and east bay hills especially through napa and sonoma counties in the Higher Elevations. Saturday afternoon, thats when it gets intense across napa, fairfield, gusts up to 50 Miles Per Hour above 1,000 feet. Anytime we get wind from this direction, it dries things up. So expect humidity levels to drop down to about 20 . And that always increases our risk of fires. Napa, fairfield, again by 8 00 tomorrow night will still feel the breeze and it will stay windy through saturday night into early sunday morning. And then your day on sunday should be a lot calmer. Heres your tahoe report. Higher elevations, it will be beautiful. Clearing skies, nice and calm. Sunny conditions for today. Also, around north star if you are heading up there, a nice easy drive. No chain requirements because theres no snow. And squaw valley they still have that base up there and it will be really pretty up at high camp. Now heres our next chance of some rain for the state. Well be right back. Fire fighting is a very dangerous profession. We have one to two fires a day and when you respond together and you put your lives on the line, you do have to surround yourself with experts. And for us the expert in gas and electric is pg e. We run about 2,500 2,800 fire calls a year and on almost every one of those calls pg e is responding to that call as well. And so when we show up to a fire and pg e shows up with us it makes a tremendous team during a moment of crisis. I rely on them, the firefighters in this department rely on them, and so we have to practice safety everyday. Utilizing pg es talent and expertise in that area trains our firefighters on the gas or electric aspect of a fire and when we have an emergency situation we are going to be much more skilled and prepared to mitigate that emergency for all concerned. The things we do every single day that puts ourselves in harms way, and to have a partner that is so skilled at what they do is indispensable, and i couldnt ask for a better partner. Todays topic teeth cleaning. Dr. Jill chase joins us every friday we check in with our pet expert to tackle issues pet owners may be facing and todays topic, teeth cleaning. Dont use sonic care, right . Dr. Jill chase joins us. I wanted to talk about why we do general anesthesia when we do it for cats and dogs. We do use ultrasonic cleaning technique and so that makes a very high pitched sound and most animals dont like to lay down and deal with that. They want to be off the table and out of there. That sound is very scary for them. They dont like dental tools. We have to go around all teeth and under the gum line to clean. So we have to use something that will keep them restrained and in this case we use anesthesia. The other thing thats very important is that theres a lot of water from the ultrasonic cleaner and usually they will have a lot of bacteria in their mouth and that can actually be aspirated into the lungs which can be fatal so in order to prevent that we put an endotracheal tube into the lungs and provides them with oxygen and anesthesia and has something to prevent the fluid from getting into the lungs. So thats why we do that. I thought i would show you, if you can see this he has a little bit of tar tar on the back. They should, white but theres brownback there. So this is very mild to moderate dental tar tar. Usually ill have the owners brush and in my practice my owners are great about brushing their teeth so i rarely do dentals and it works. Thats why we use anesthesia. Its a little more complicated for our pets. Thank you for joining us. If you have a question about your pets health and well being, we want to hear from you. Ust email us at pets kpix. Com and well have our pet expert give you an answer every friday right here at noon. Well be right back. A reminder now if you have a Consumer Problem or question, email or call us. Ell, todays tip of the day is going to be is with corn. This time of year theres not a lot of local corn being grown. Enjoy them within a few days, in the refrigerator right away. When its already peeled and, you know, if you have it like this, its great. What i like to do is add olive oil, salt and pepper and throw it in the broiler or just take it out, the kernels by themselves and make a nice corn salsa, wonderful and great for you. m tony tantillo, your fresh grocer, and always remember to eat fresh and stay healthy.
