Were talking a free fall down 1,500 points at one point erasing its gains for the year. By the closing bell the dow was still down about 1,200 points. Pg e stock was among those taking a hit. Some of the selling was based on findings by santa rosa fire investigators. They say power lines sparked two wildfires last october. The report is the first by a Government Agency finding fault in part by pg e. Investigators conclude a combination of strong winds, dry brush and arcing power lines sparked at least two small fires the night of october 8th. The cause of the larger tubbs fire is still under investigation. Pg e in the meantime has been promoting its own fire response in tv and newspaper ads. I think part of the backlash, if you will, the sensitivity piece is the people who are in the north bay as an example, you know, feel as if pg e is responsible for the fires. Reporter the chief says neither he, nor any of his firefighters were paid by pg e for appearing in those ads, but in a way the taxpayers paid because they were all on duty at the time. About the ad, pg e said, our customers want to know what we are doing to help prevent and fight fires. These ads help communicate how we Work Together and train with our First Responders to benefit our customers, their families and the communities we serve. Turns out the call came from foles high school playbook. Here he is running the same play at westlake high in austin, texas. Clearly Bill Belichick did not do his homework and while foles was the mvp, former Stanford Star and monte vista high alum zach ertz on the receiving end of the game winning touchdown and clearly zach made the right call choosing to play football over basketball. I used to tell him when he was in high school, zach, you know, hey, youre a nice High School Basketball player, but you arent going to play in college because you cant shoot and if you cant shoot, you cant play. Yeah. Everybody is just so excited and so proud. Afternoons running well above average continuing, the dry front coming through friday. It will be somewhat cooler, no rainfall and it now looks more like we wont see a drop of rain the entire month of february through valentines day, halfway through the month. Concord tomorrow 75 degrees, still 17 degrees above average, santa clara 72, san mateo 72, union city 70, 74 in pleasanton, pittsburg 73 tomorrow, concord 75. Today you were 80, so i guess thats cooling down. Berkeley 69 degrees tomorrow, 70 in San Francisco, 71 tomorrow in cloverdale, everybody with sunshine. Wednesday equally mild, a couple degrees cooler thursday and friday. The front over the weekend will cool us down to mainly 60s, not 70s and well stay at that level through early next week. Notice all this sunshine. There is no chance of rain for at least the next seven days. Thats your forecast. Well be looking for a march miracle. Thanks, paul.
