The legal aid says they are among the mass of people pushed from their homes post disaster. We have a community where affordability is nonexistent now. Reporter since the fire, the legal aid has seen a 20 spike in evictions. In most cases, this is legal. Neither the county or city have a law in place to protect against addiction. You could evict a tenant for any reason as long as it not as it is not constitutionally prohibited. You could be evicted because someone doesnt like you or i decide i want to remodel my apartment and charge 10,000 per month, theres nothing to stop from doing that. Hundreds are suffering the consequences. Including this womans family. We noticed our rent went up 10 . We got a call a few days after he was born, they said they were going to remodel and take the rent almost 60 . The day after thanksgiving we got the notice to vacate. There is water coming down the drain pipe off of the hill toward the back of the house. Its unclear whether the homeowners plan to file a claim because of this damage.
