Thousands were ordered to evacuate in Santa Barbara, ventura, and los angeles counties. Tom wait has our report from ventura, california. Reporter rescue workers continue to pick through mud and debris as they look through survivors. As night fell, an unknown number of residents remained unaccounted for following mondays mudslides. So loud, it was just a constant roar. Reporter there have already been soninlaw dramatic rescues made of people trapped in the mud for hours. It looked leaker known a battlefield. It was literally a carpet of mud and debris everywhere. Reporter this disaster began with a storm that dumped nearly 9 inches of rain in just 15 minutes. The water triggered mudslides on the hills left barren by wildfires. This is way scarier than that. At least fires, you can see them coming. Reporter evacuation orders had been ordered below the Santa Ynez Mountains but its unclear how many heeded the warning. When i heard about the evacuation yesterday, i thought, i couldnt evacuate again. I didnt think it would be this bad. Reporter several roads were covered beneath mud including this one, the 101. Its now closed until further noticed. Todays forecast calls for clearer weather in the region, but the cleanup and falling out with the pr and hesident and his all and the testimony of the key figure in the fusion probe has been rehired. She was handcuffed and jailed after she questioned pay policies. The school board said she talked out of turn. She was released and no charges file and the school board is investigating. Our top stories this morning, at least 13 people have been killed by mud and rock slides in Southern California. 20 people have been hospitalized and thousands more evacuated. Reporter memphis pastor andy savage made a confession this past sunday at highpoint church. As a College Student on staff at a church in texas more than 20 years ago, i regrettably had a sexual encounter with a female senior in the church. Reporter his confession got a standing ovation. It breaks my heart. Reporter Jules Woodson was 17 years old when she said she was sexually assaulted by savage on the ride home from church. At the time savage was a 22yearold youth minister. She recently went public about her story on a christian blog. I did it because i was scared and i was in shock. I didnt understand what was happening. Reporter woodson says back in 1998 she notified a pastor who told her to keep quiet. She says savage left the church weeks later. In the wake of the me too Movement Woodson felt the need to speak up and sent savage an email last month. He didnt respond until yesterday, and she said he apologized. We are for miss woodson. Reporter chris conlee, the lead pastor of a Memphis Church where savage now ministers prayed for savage and woodson. It saddens us that miss woodson has not been on the same road to healing. The apology doesnt change that what happened to me was against the law and that it was wrong. Woodson said the night of the incident savage got down on his knees and apologized but told her to keep it a secret and take it to her grave.
