An attempted robbery in San Franciscos Mission district put a 77yearold man in the hospital. It happened at a store near mission and 19th streets last thursday night. Farther north in ukiah this man was arrested for pulling a mike tyson, biting off a mans ear in a fight apparently over marijuana. 40yearold Samuel Galindo was drinking with a relative Christmas Eve when he attacked him and now galindo faces several charges including assault. The victim was treated and released. Fema is closing Assistance Centers in sonoma county. The offices were opened in santa rosa and the valley in october to help victims of the wildfire apply for federal assistance, but fema said they just arent getting enough foot traffic anymore to justify keeping them open. And since bats are nocturnal they were knocked out. Because the bats are basically sleepy, they literally started sliding down the side of the house falling to the ground. Reporter an animal control officer arrived, scooped them all up and brought them here to the Peninsula Humane Society where they got checked for broken wings, warmed up in an incubator and given oxygen. By dusk that same evening the Humane Society released them back into the wild where you guessed it, some of them flew right back to the painting. By the way, st.
