As for why it took that long . You have to ask pg e that. I really dont know. Reporter pg e refused to respond to our requests for comment for more than six hours. Moments before air time a spokesperson came out providing this statement on why it took so long to stop the gas leak. We safely stopped the flow of gas as quickly and safely as we possibly could. Reporter now despite multiple questions from reporters today about why it took so long to turn off the gas today, even about san bruno and the promises that were made during that event to do better to turn off gas more quickly in the future in events like this, pg e maintains it did everything it could as safely and quickly as possible.
