Signs of red. We are in the yellow, 15 minutes in the maze into San Francisco. Im tracking the fog for you this morning. We are seeing some fog building up across the east bay and the north bay right now. So lets zoom in close and show you whats going on for livermore down to about a quarter mile visibility now. It went from 0 to. 3 miles. Oakland airport 5mile visibility, concord 5 miles there. Napa, just down to a half, santa rosa about a quarter. So the airport in santa rosa, Sonoma County, you see some issues because of that fog. And thats why this dense fog advisory has been issued. Its not going to end until 8 00 this morning. So they are advising drivers of course to keep a distance between you and the car ahead of you. And turn on the fog lights, not your high beams. We are looking at our dublin camera. You can see some of that fog there. But sfo looks like flights are still good to go at this hour. No delays. Temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Right now, the search is on for an escaped bay area inmate who eluded capture during a confrontation with police. A second escaped inmate now in custody. Kpix 5s Jessica Flores is live at the Santa Clara County jail with the latest. Jessica. Reporter thats right, michelle. One out of two escaped inmates here from Santa Clara County was taken into custody yesterday after an intense shootout in stockton. Now, take a look at these pictures. This is the one they have in custody, 46yearold tramel mcclough. He is in custody but his partner, 47yearold john bivins, is still on the run. The Sheriffs Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for the escaped inmates. The scene happened about 5 p. M. Yesterday. Chp units tried to pull over a car on interstate 5 but then it sped off. Officers followed it to a walmart where the driver, who investigators say turned out to be mcclough, bailed out, took off running, he was arrested. While that was happening, officers say the passenger drove off, bivins. Officers cornered him on trinity parkway, then gunfire. [ gunfire ] reporter a witness captured those shots being fired. Officers screamed at the man to stay down. But he didnt. Bivins managed to get away yet again. The two were on the run, have been on the run since they escaped the palo alto courthouse more than two weeks ago. They were appearing for an Armed Robbery charge. They somehow bolted for the exit, got away in a car waiting outside the courthouse. I know they were in for violent crimes. We consider them dangerous. Reporter investigators released these news surveillance photos of last night these new surveillance photos last night of bivins at a screen stores driving a green 1999 ford explorer, plate number 7tyy50. The Sheriffs Department is expected to release more information about their investigation this morning. They are asking the public to be on the lookout for bivins again driving that 1999 green ford explorer. Call police with information. Jessica flores, kpix 5. The fbi is searching for a hells angels biker who is on the run. A reward of up to 5,000 is being offered for information leading to russell lyles, jr. s arrest. He is part of a group accused of running a racketeering operation. Six suspects were arrested in connection at the wagon wheel saloon in santa rosa on saturday. One of several raids across the country by the fbi. Many of them will face a federal judge today and monday for arraignment. This morning the man accused of murdering kate steinle on San Franciscos pier 14 is awaiting the verdict. Anne makovec joins us with more. Reporter the jurors began deliberating yesterday afternoon. They are going to be back at it at 9 a. M. They are having to look past the National Controversy over illegal immigration here and focus solely on the moments before kate steinle was killed. It happened two years ago on San Franciscos pier 14. Jose Inez Garcia Zarate is the defendant. A 45yearold homeless mexican who was in the country illegally. He is charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Steinle was walking with her father when she was hit in the back by a single bullet that had ricocheted off the pier. The Prosecutor Says Garcia Zarate was playing his own secret game of russian roulette. The defense though says it was an accident, that zarate found the gun on the pier wrapped in a piece of cloth, he picked it up and it fired accidentally. Intentionality. Thats the big question here. Why did he do this . Was this an accident . Was it absolute recklessness with no care at all for human life . Or was it something he did intentionally by focusing on miss steinle . Reporter the gun had been stolen from a u. S. Bureau of Land Management rangers vehicle a few days earlier but no evidence links zarate to the burglary. Deliberations today are scheduled until noon. When the jury reaches a verdict, they will give the judge notice and it will be read 30 minutes later. The possibilities, first or seconddegree murder or involuntary manslaughter. This morning, new details about a deadly shooting rampage in the small town of rancho tehama. Sheriffs deputies responded 21 times in the last year to the gunmans house. Kevin neals neighbors including two of the People Killed in the shooting rampage, had called the Sheriffs Department 6 times to report neal had been firing a gun. Neal shot and killed five people last week, before killing himself. Former Hedge Fund Manager and billionaire tom steyers impeachment petition is getting support from the California Democratic party. It retweeted his petition that is calling for the president s impeachment. Steyer is promising to spend 20 million for the ad campaign. He recently paid for this billboard in times square. President trump is defending Alabama Republican Senate candidate roy moore despite multiple allegations of Sexual Misconduct against him. Were tracking an accident north of santa rosa along 101 near shiloh. It doesnt appear to be slowing anyone down. Speeds in the green. You may see some flashing lights when the tow truck arrives. Over at the richmond san rafael, this is the toll plaza. Headlights moving westbound. We are still looking good although its getting crowded. And your ride along the eastshore freeway, not too bad. Well take it. 15 minutes from highway 4 down towards the maze. And the bay bridge toll plaza, the usual suspects in the yellow 15 minutes into San Francisco. Neda . Lets talk about that fog right now. Keep checking in on the visibility map to let you know what you are going to be expecting as you head out across the east bay or the north bay. Those seem to be the trouble spots this morning. Livermore still. 3mile visibility. A little improvement from zero. Livermore airport, santa rosa airport and sonoma airports also have trouble because of the lowlying fog. Its sitting in the valleys. Fairfield visibility just dropped to half mile. So sacramento valley, san joaquin valley, under this dense fog advisory, a lot of that fog is moving from the east towards our area because of the wind direction. The winds coming from the east and thats why were dealing with it here now. So again, keep your distance between you and the car ahead of you and no turning on those big bright lights just the normal fog lights would be fine. Heres a look at the wind so you can get an idea of why were seeing that fog this morning. It is coming from the east fairly light though six to seven miles visibility in napa. Look at dublin looking nice as we wait for sunrise, the vaca cam showing the beautiful glow. Temperatures in the low 50s for concord and oakland. Livermore still 48 degrees. San francisco at 58. Expecting that fog to burn off once that sun comes up and later on this afternoon, we are going to see a bit of cloud coverage coming in from the north. So you may see some cloudy conditions this afternoon but our wet weather will still feel very warm. High pressure again expected to break some records for our area. Heres a look at the south bay. Temperatures in the mid to upper 70s across the south bay. The east bay will be warmer than what we experienced yesterday. So low 70s to mid70s for livermore and pleasanton. This morning, were learning the Cupertino Company canceled home pods several times during the development stage. Bloomberg reports the siri enabled Smart Speaker started as a project in 2012 and went through various changes before the event design was chosen. This comes after apple just reported it will delay the release of its new product to next year. In the next few weeks, google lens will launch with an assistant on pixel phones. Its a Computer Vision system that lets you point your camera the aan object and get information about it in real time. It became available within Google Photos last month. Facebook is working to improve messenger. The social media giant now lets users share 4k resolution images at the same speed as your regular photos. And that means your photos will look sharper than before. Facebook just provided these before and after photos to showcase the difference. Messenger used to compress High Resolution photos causing the image quality to degrade heads rolling at the raiders headquarters. It might be the offense that has failed to live up to expectations. In san jose, im Jessica Flores, kpix 5. Turning to the cleanup following the wine country wildfires, private cleanup application forms for residents of Sonoma County are due today. Officials say that residents who choose not to participate in the Debris Removal Program or are ineligible to do so are required, however, to clean up their properties. Qualified personnel must remove the burn debris in a timely manner at the owners expense. This morning, were also learning that california lawmakers plan to hold hearings next month to evaluate the response to the deadly wildfires. As the San Francisco chronicle reported earlier this week, in the early hours of the fires, sonoma and napa counties may not have gotten enough help from californias mutual aid system. The countys requested 305 fire engines but only 130 were sent in the first 12 hours. The lawmakers will also discuss why Sonoma County decided not to use a mass alert system that sends notifications to cell phones to warn residents of an emergency. It is 6 33 right now. He is now heading home to san rafael to reunite with the rest of his family and friends. He says he wants to return to work and stay in this country, where he has lived for 17 years. They are going to resume at 9 a. M. They are deciding whether or not there was any intent involved when the defendants actions caused the death of kate steinle. Once the jury does reach a verdict, they are going to give the judge notice and that verdict will be read halfhour later. Their options are first or seconddegree murder, or involuntary manslaughter. Eight people have been found in Good Condition today after a u. S. Navy plane crashed in the pacific ocean. The eight are now on board the uss Ronald Reagan Aircraft Carrier. The c2 aircraft was on the way back to that Aircraft Carrier when it went down about 90 miles off the coast of japan. The crew was taking part in a joint u. S. Japan naval exercise. The navy is still searching for three other people who were on board. New worries for the family of 44 missing Argentinian Navy submariners. The submarine may run out of oxygen today. Hackers stole the personal information of 57 million users and 600,000 drivers including names, phones and email addresses. The ceo of the company, who did not work for uber at the time of the breach, says the hackers were immediately identified and the downloaded data was destroyed. The company also increased its security but they didnt notify customers, drivers or regulators until now. Yeah, confounding to me, if you knew who the hackers were, then why wouldnt you report them to the authorities . Thats the question that uber now has to answer. The aaa auto group predicts this years thanksgiving travel will be the busiest in more than a decade. Bart will be running fewer trains tomorrow for the thanksgiving holiday. A few brake lights tracking gilman but other than that your ride is in the green. Over at the bay bridge toll plaza, 16 minutes from the maze into San Francisco. We were getting early reports of a problem on the lower deck of the bay bridge, right as you approach treasure island, it doesnt appear to be blocking that lane any longer. San mateo bridge out of hayward to foster city, a drive time just under 20 minutes in the yellow. So things are starting to get a little crowded but still, a better time to leave. The earlier it the better if you have getaway plans. More ski resorts will open for the season today and tomorrow in the tahoe truckee area. Among them north star and kirkwood mountain resort. Chains are not required on 80 or u. S. 50 right now. But that could change sunday, right, neda. Yes. If you are going there and not coming back until sunday, take your chains just in case. Remnants from the last storm that came through. But its been very warm up there. So a lot of that has been melting, of course the ski resorts have been pumping all that snow though. The overnight earlyMorning Hours in tahoe are chilly down near the 30s. And we are expecting to see some of this moisture drop down across our area but not until sunday. And then sunday night thats when we may get some of that tahoe snow which is why those chains are always good to have handy. Washington, oregon, still getting dumped on. They are going to see about three inches more of rain for parts of washington, some flooding likely there. Lets show you the temperatures if you are traveling today. Seattle, portland, down into the 60s, upper 60s for sacramento. Los angeles 92 degrees for the high today. Compare that to minneapolis. About a 60degree difference with temperatures there 30s so theres a blast of cold air coming in from canada but, of course, the Desert Southwest is very warm, phoenix 88, las vegas 81. Across the east bay, temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Low 70s for San Francisco as well and same with san rafael and novato. Up to the north, temperatures also warmer than average 10 to 15 degrees. There is a chance of rain for the north bay only in the Morning Hours and then temperatures will be slightly cooler tomorrow and friday. They face it today as they work to recover. Reporter an intense shootout in stockton leads to the arrest of one of two escaped inmates from here in Santa Clara County. We have that all on tape and we are going to show you that coming up. Its 6 im Jessica Flores live in san jose where the Santa Clara County Sheriffs Office says they now have one of two escaped inmates in custody. It happened after a shootout last night in stockton. Tramel mcclough is now in custody. But his partner, john bivins, is on the run and the Sheriffs Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for the escaped inmate. The wild scene happened just after 5 p. M. Yesterday. Chp pulled over a car on interstate 5. The car sped off, officers followed it to walmart where the driver, tramel mcclough, was arrested. While that was happening, officers say the passenger got behind the wheel and took off, bivins. He was cornered on trinity parkway, then gunfire [ gunfire ] [ sirens ] reporter a witness captured the shots being fired. Officer screamed at the man to stay down. But he didnt. Bivins managed to get away again. The two on the run since they escaped a palo alto courthouse. More than two weeks ago. They were appearing for Armed Robbery charges. They somehow bolted for an exit and got away in car waiting outside the courthouse. Now, this morning, here at the Sheriffs Department, well hear more about the investigation. Back to you. Thank you.
