The chief made an incredibly great decision to contact pg e and request that the power be turned off for that area. That also contributed to the cell phone outage. It would change Utility Company operations over about 74,000 square miles across the state that are determined to be at elevated or risk for wildfires. The state Public Utilities commission is also looking at stepping up inspections of electric equipment. Members of the commission could vote on the new roles as early as december 14.
