Tramel mcclough and john bevans escaped bivins escaped. They had help from the outside. Detectives with the Sheriffs Office said that Marquita Kirk and rene hunt were their accomplices. Marquita was arrested at 5 00 yesterday morning at her home in sunnyvale. Detectives say she rented the second escaped vehicle a uhaul van in East Palo Alto for the fugitives. Hunt is charged with conspiracy and accessory after the fact. To make their getaway, they both unlocked their restraints, then ran through an emergency door into a waiting unregistered toyota sedan and then that uhaul. The court is understaffed significantly as well as the rest of the Sheriffs Office. Its just not a surprise that it happened. We are very happy that no one was hurt in the circumstance. Reporter now, he is from the Sheriffs Officers union. And he is raising concerns about the countys other lockup facilities. The undersheriff says the understaffing assertion is untrue. The board has disagreed on a lot of pot issues including the locations of the dispensary. But a handful of supervisors approved a few amendments last night. They Hope Committee will pass them before going to the full board for approval. On the state level regulations is more organized. The bureau of cannabis control says it will be ready to issue licenses on january 1st. It claims that legislators have covered nearly every aspect of the industry from cultivation and dispensaries to Testing Facilities and manufacturing. Still, its up to each local entity to figure out its own rules. Your community license is more important than the state license. The local control is always something that were interested in. It really reflects more of the will of the community. 58 counties and more than 480 cities in california have the power to make up their own minds and impose their own regulations on cannabis. San francisco could soon have new specially marked areas for rideshare cars to pull over. Mayor lee has proposed a deal with uber, lyft and other companies. The city would provide painted curbs for ridesharing vehicles to pull over for customers. Im asking to use their data, share it with us so that we could figure out where our good dropoff points for their customers and for ours as well, but safe ones. The Pilot Program if approved by the sfmta could be in place in january. So far, no neighborhood has been selected for the program. Napa county says about 200 homeowners already filed paperwork for the government Cleanup Program. The program doesnt cost homeowners. A handful of residents has received permission to clean up themselves. In Sonoma County the fire burned down more than 5,000 homes. 5 of the countys entire housing stock. At a county meeting yesterday, Officials Say the Hazardous Waste cleanup is ahead of schedule. Twothirds of toxic waste has been removed. The second phase is going in to be able to remove the debris. The eastshore freeway starting to see more of those delays. Very typical for this time of the morning. We are seeing slowdowns though along the richmond parkway as you go from 580 to interstate 80. Thats where we are seeing a backup develop. And your approach towards the bay bridge along 580 traffic is backed up to highway 24 and its starting to stretch on to 24 so pretty slow as you are coming out of caldecott tunnel and over at the bay bridge toll plaza. Metering lights are on. You are backed up in both directions. We have speeds in the red 21 minutes into San Francisco. Hats a check of your traffic; over to you. All right. We are tracking some rain out there. Right now, still north of the bay area, gray skies although you cant see the gray. But it is cloudy over the city over much of the bay area and thats helping us to start off nice and mild temperaturewise. We are in the upper 40s in concord and santa rosa. Mid50s for San Francisco, san jose. 44 in livermore. Today well have showers sink south. Right now most of us dry. First off, though, north bay seeing showers late morning, early afternoon. Here we are pausing it for your evening commute. As you can see, we do see just a couple of light showers ahead of that front which does sort of hang back over the north bay through much of the day. Its not until 10, 11 00 overnight tonight midnight here where we see that front make its way through the central portion of the bay area and sink south. Behind the front scattered showers unsettled for thursday. Even on in through friday the first part of your friday. Then we dry out for saturday and the first part of sunday. More showers on the horizon. How much from this round . Not a whole lot. We could see two inches up over the north bay mountains the highest elevations. Most of us, though, seeing about a half inch to a quarter inch for the south bay, half inch in the east bay, three quarters for some spots Higher Elevations along the peninsula and santa cruz mountains. A police chase through oakland highways and city streets ended in a crash involving multiple vehicles. Two people in jail and one person in the hospital in critical condition. Police say they suspected the men in the car had illegal guns, they tried to pull them over. They kept driving until they crashed just off 580.
