Reporter when the gunman opened fire inside the First Baptist church behind it, police say it was an ambush on a stunned congregation praying in their pews the pastor and his wife returned from out of town to talk about the deadly shooting at their Church Sunday that killed 26 people including their 14yearold daughter annabel. One thing that gives me a shiver of encouragement is the fact that bell was surrounded yesterday by her Church Family that she loved fiercely. The victims ranged in age from 18 months to 77yearold. Investigators identified the gunman as 26yearold devin kelley who lived 35 miles away. It was just so much gunfire. Authorities say he opened fire on the church, went inside and kept firing his assault rifle. When he left the church, a man who lives across the street engaged the shooter got in his truck. He and that neighbor chased after the gunman. We hit 95 trying to catch this guy until he lost control on his own, and went off in a ditch. We know during that pursuit the suspect used his cell phone to notify his father that he had been shot, and didnt think he was going to make it. Subsequently he shot himself. The Sheriffs Department says kelleys inlaws and exwife occasionally attended service at this church. They were not here sunday. Authorities say this was a domestic situation. Kelley had sent his mother in law threatening text. Kelley served in the air force but was court marshalled in 2012 on charges he assaulted his spouse and child. Police recovered three gunned purchased by the shooter. Out of the 20 injured, 10 remain in critical condition. The death toll could still rise. In sutherland spring, texas, im meg oliver. He was cuddled behind me and when i pointed at the temperature gate, i felt her he and his wife were out of state when the shooting happened. Homeowners who have properties with more than 10,000 in damage will see tax relief. For some victims of the Sonoma County fire, their homes are gone with nothing left. The property tax on the home post fire will be zero. But for others with sheds, garages and partial home damage, their property taxes will be reduced. County appraisers this week are inspected homes calculating the damage. In the field, theyre looking at the structure, and determining is it 20 damage, is it 50 damage. The county assessors says the tax bill will be pro rated. Homeowners will get full charged for the months before october and not every damage count. People who have smoke damage, theyre inside the perimeter or outside of it, that doesnt qualify unfortunately for our structure damage.
