Then, 781 was told to execute a go around because atc was unsure that the runway would be cleared in time. Within 30 seconds, the flight crew was told to go around six times, but the tower never got a response. That prompted an airport supervisor to use a red light gun to alert the crew. 781 go around. Air canada 781 go around. Canada 781 go around. Back in july, you may remember a similar incident like this happening when an air canada pilot almost landed on the taxi way. Coming within seconds of crashing with two other planes. The plane landed safely and avoided the collision. In regards to sunday nights event, air canada released a statement. Upon landing, the crew was informed the tower had attempted unsuccessfully to contact the aircraft. However, the message was not received by the crew. Air canada is investigating the circumstances. After flight 781 landed safely and only after the landing did they finally get in touch with the tower and say that they were having radio problems. The faa is now investigating. Crews got the fires under control within an hour. One is actually allowing people to sleep in rvs or guest houses and the second one is putting a temporary freeze on rental property, hoping that those rental properties, Vacation Rental properties go to some of these displaced residents. Thousands of homes destroyed. Now thousands of residents scrambling to find a place to live. The wine country fires compasser baiting the housing crisis here. It was bad.
