Reporter air canada sent a statement this morning saying, in part, after receiving proper clearance to land and proceeding to do so, the crew landed normally and then was informed that tower had attempted unsuccessfully to contact the aircraft. The message was not received by the crew and air canada is investigating the circumstances. A supervisor used a red light gun to signal this because there was no proper radio response.
