The rain overnight is helping crews as they work to get a line around the wine country fires, but it can also be a problem for heavy equipment as workers are now operating on mud instead of dirt. 82 percent contained. The containment numbers are up again today. All the fires burning across the north bay are now at least 82 contained. Pg e says it has restored all electric and gas service to customers who can receive it. Now investigators are checking whether pg e power limes might have sparked the fire lines might have sparked the fire. The companied today it is committing 3 million to Community Group for the rebuilding effort. The planned reopening of kaiser depends on the necessary paperwork. The hospital has been doing a lot of cleaning. New clues about the possible cause of the bear fires burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Witnesses say a chop shop right at the center of the fire could be to blame. As it broke out monday night, the bear fire has blackened 320 acres and is 40 contained. Reporter yeah, investigators think that they have begun to zero in on exactly where this fire started and in an interesting twist, the property and person living there is no stranger to law enforcement. The smoldering smoky wreckage of dozens of burnt out cars lines the road of the property where investigators now believe a stubborn wildfire burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains first began. Were not ready to announce anything, but i think theres great leads were following up on and i do think well resolve this thing in the next few days. Reporter the property thats the focus of the Fire Investigation is well known to law enforcement. Per s. O. This is a former parolee house and theyve been known to put out tripwires to alert if someone is coming onto the property.
