Reporter School Officials tell me they found the noose here. It was fashioned from rope used to hang these privacy screens here at alameda high. This is the noose that a staff member at alameda high found on a sidewalk near the school. Alameda Police Confirmed they are investigating it as a hate crime. In a statement, we believe that the persons responsible could have left the rope on display with the intention of threatening another person. This small island city has experienced a rash of possible hate incidents. A flyer found near the Islamic Center of alameda last month, and just days before that, a window broken at a local synagogue. Some alameda residents told me they are concerned. I think people feel more comfortable blatantly displaying racism and hatred and its scary. Police say that he got angry at the animals because they ate his plants. Police say he used a high powered pellet rifle in his yard on mar east. Homeowners Attorney Says emily turner, his client meant no harm. Reporter folks who live in the neighborhood say they have watched this deer family grow up, a mother and two fawn. Now only one fawn remains because they enjoyed eating this mans landscaping. We were shocked and disturbed. Reporter thats not the action you expect out of a tiburon neighborhood but the Marin Humane Society said they were horrified when they responded to the call of two deer a doe and fawn shot dead. These are pictures of the fawns that a neighbor took in better days. To kill two innocent animals like this and make them suffer is pretty egregious and and, you know, we are really shocked and concerned. Reporter a neighbor saw someone lurking outside her house with a flashlight and called police. She found the doe dead, the fawn died about an hour later. Mark dickenson was arrested for animal cruelty. Person was frustrated with the deer eating his vegetation, um, its pretty disturbing. That was their only crime and they died a pretty slow death which is really heartbreaking. Reporter a statement from mr. Dickensons Attorney Says this, quote, my client did not intend to harm the animals. The public outrage related to these allegations is driven by the inflammatory claims of the Tiburon Police department which havent been proven in court. Whether or not it will make it to court is up to the marin County District attorney, who is currently looking into the charges.
