Usually it hovers down further south in california but this high is in oregon sending the winds east. It could be very costly. In fact, accuweather says that it could be the most costly Natural Disaster in u. S. History at more than 1 190 billion more than sandy and katrina. It includes lost jobs and Health Impacts as well as other impacts felt down the road for years to come. The job market cooled off a little in august according to the labor department. This after several very strong months of gains. Labor says it was a gain of 156,000 jobs in august. That was after june and july were revised lower by a combined 41,000 jobs. Unemployment went up a bit to 4. 4 . Wage growth is sluggish up 2. 5 compared to a year earlier. This report certainly does take a little bit of heat off the federal reserve. It has a policy setting meeting later this month. Inflation is fairly mild right now. So combined with this report, the odds of a rate hike this month are low. And they are pulling back even more for the rest of the year. Stock market off to a positive start. Its been doing well the past couple of days. And right now, dow is up by more than 60 points.
