Reporter more than a stadium plan, they need a financing plan and today that developer turned in the final financing plan to oakland to show how it can help build the stadium at the site. Will the raiders buy into the plan . Oakland is one step closer to knowing whether its got a workable financing plan to keep the raiders in town. This afternoon, a developer the city hired turned in all the detailed documents showing where they get 1 billion to build a stadium at the coliseum site. Its only money. I guess, huh . I mean and im highly aware we are big stewards of the public dollars here. Reporter the city and the developer would not release the plan to the public today. But they say it will be money coming from private investors. Transportation oriented development. The office mixed use, retail, housing, all thal is currently envisioned and approved in the citys plan. Reporter the city says its still optimistic. Even though stadium consultant Carmen Policy recently told the nfl owners the raiders chargers are committed to building a stadium in carson. Think of it. One grand stadium all the bells and whistles. Im not easily discouraged. Thats why i came back to oakland specifically to make this happen. Reporter the fans are confident saying the raiders have the biggest fan base in the east bay. They havent done well in the field in 12 seasons but last three seasons were sold out. Oakland is the primary home for the raiders. Reporter and these sports fans will soon find out what that financing plan is all about because the developer Floyd Kephart will present the plan to the media next tuesday morning. And well be sure to pass that along. Live at the oakland coliseum, im da lin, kpix 5. New at 5 00 a thief is on the run in the east bay armed with a Police Officers gun and badge. The items were stolen from the officers car this morning at point isabel regional shoreline in richmond. Police havent said whether the car was a marked cruiser or the officers personal vehicle. They are also not saying which department the officer worked for. Police have detained a man who threatened a priest at a tiburon school. The man later turned up hiding in the San Rafael Mission on fifth avenue. That forced a lockdown of st. Rafael school. The man was caught about 2 p. M. And it turns out he did not have a gun. A rough sight in San Francisco. This huge tree limb came crashing down overnight damaging at least five cars. It happened along oak street near the panhandle east of golden gate park. The nissan took a direct hit. The windshield shattered, the back window blown out. The branch came from a eucalyptus tree on city property. It was at least a couple of feet in diameter and 15 feet long. A mare island warehouse is a shouldering pile of toxic debris. The plant was gut. A fire ripped through the alco iron company overnight senting toxic fumes into the air. Kpix 5s anne makovec reports crews are still keeping a close eye on hot spots. Very fastmoving fire. Reporter it started at around 11 00 last night at the alco iron works building flames shooting out of the roof which quickly collapsed. Inside, a burning mess of Hazardous Waste used oil, lead batteries, old tvs and computers, as well as several large propane tanks. The inferno created dangerous sparks as pieces of burning debris flew into the air. It started about 15 different spot fires in the grass behind us. So not only was this a three alarm structure fire but we had a wildland response to assist us with the multiple grassfires we had. Reporter firefighters gave these masks to reporters covering the fire this morning. That smoke full of toxic chemicals. But luckily most of it dispaid before it made it to residential neighborhoods. Today, only a partial shell of the 62,000squarefoot warehouse remains. Any of the walls that are still stand there is could give way at any time. Reporter and could fall into the smoldering pile of toxic debris. Its going to take probably throughout the day to finish putting the fire out. If not it might burn for a couple more days. Reporter the cause of the fire is under investigation. On mare island, anne makevoc, kpix 5. The alco recycling yard was the site of another inferno almost exactly a year ago. Last years fire was in a different area of the plant. Crews were able to keep it from spreading to the warehouse. Seven people are homeless after a fire ripped through two homes in alameda this morning. Cell phone video shows the intense flames spreading between the two buildings. The fire damaged a bait and tackle shop on the ground floor and gutted a home upstairs and destroyed the attic of the second home. The red cross is helping displaced families. The cause is under investigation. Firefighters are getting the upper hand on a brush fire burning near livermore. We just learned that parts of tesla and Corral Hollow roads are expected to open at any moment. The tesla fire is now 70 contained.
