A man with a backpack stole it and crashed it right into a light pole. After the crash the police say the suspect got right out of the car, took off his jacket and then was walking along airport property. A motorcycle cop tried to stop the pan but he took off. When the officer asked the suspect to place the backpack down the suspect ran westbound and actually gained acses and attempted to carjack a vehicle. Reporter the suspect shouted at the man to go. But the chasing Police Officer got this quickly and told the victim to put his hands up, so he did, refusing the carjackers demands, the suspect took off, he hid in bushes, emerged and eventually tried to carjack at least 2 more cars but failed. Then the chief says the suspect charged at officers. One shot is fired. It does not strike the suspect, the suspect continues to come at the officer. One of the other officers can hear the suspect saying shoot me, shoot me, shoot me. A second round is fired at strikes at the suspect in what appears to be the abdomen.
