It is approximately seven miles a second. At that speed, you could cross the United States in about six minutes. Reporter new horizons sent no new images tonight, but they were able to confirm something they didnt know before. Pluto is 1470 miles across. Bigger than they thought. A woman liveing in the 200 block of emerson street woke up to the sound of a scratch at her bedroom window. When she looked outside, a man was staring back at her. He ran off. This could be the same suspect that snuck into a backyard a couple of miles away on moffet circle one night last week. In this case, a 14yearold girl saw him and called 911. An hour ago, the Berkeley City Council approved new regulations for balconies. It is in response to the collapse last month that killed six irish students. Balconies have to be constructed with water resistant wood or corrosion resistant steel. It will be inspected after construction is completed. Today, lawmakers in sacramento rejected a bill that would have increased the oversight of contractors statewide. They say they didnt have enough answers as to who was responsible for the berkeley balcony collapse. The bill would have required contractors to disclose previous lawsuits alleging defects, negligence, or fraud. A busy night for police in richmond. They are investigating multiple shootings that left one man dead and four other people injured in front of the monterrey Pines Apartments on burke avenue. One man was found dead, a teenager critically wounded. An hour later, there was another shooting down the street. Three people were wounded in that one.
