Reporter int says on march 23rd this man, harvard law grad Matthew Muller broke into the couples mayor island home and kidnapped Denise Huskins. The complaint says muller and his three cocaptors were wearing wetsuits. Tied up the couple with zip ties and stole their car and put a drugged denise in the trunk. You cant unwind the trauma and say oops, we made a mistake. Thats not acceptable. Thats not good enough. Reporter with her lip quivering and tears welling in her eyes and her hand grasping aarons Denise Huskins stood behind her attorneys as he tore into investigators. The injury was not only inflicted by the kidnappers, but by those who responded. Reporter the complaint even attached photos muller allegedly sent to the chronicle using what the fbi said was used to catch denise and the room she was held in, but after crews searched the bay for denises body the kidnappers returned denise home in Huntington Beach and then hours later, thats when vallejo detectives called her story a hoax. In hindsight its easy to criticize, but the idea in a short period of time they decided it was a hoax, you know, that only works in batman movies. Reporter also in that e mail the kidnappers said it wasnt just their remorse that allowed them to release denise back to her family. It was, in fact, her attitude and calm demeanor throughout the entire or deal. In vallejo, andria borba, kpix5. Reporter Authorities Say muller took off but not before leaving behind a crucial piece of evidence that led to his downfall. He left his cell phone at the residence and thats how we traced him to the Home Invasion. Reporter police used the phone to track muller to a home in lake tahoe where they arrested him. It was the middle of the night and police say he bound and blindfolded her and threatened to rob and sexually assault her. This case really was concerning to us right from the get go. Its remained concerning to us because it has remained unsolved for almost six years now. Reporter but today the fbi affidavit revealed that Matthew Muller is a suspect in this Home Invasion robbery. This man has been living in the Amherst Street home for the last two years. Its very nice, such a nice area. Its just bizarre, yeah. Its hard to believe that it happened here. Reporter police say it didnt just lap here. Just 5 miles away inside an apartment on silverwood avenue in Mountain View . It was a female victim similar age restrained and blindfolded in her home in the middle of the night by a suspect with roughly the same physical description which was a very vague description of being tall and lean.
