TRATt: Koh Kut, a popular tourist destination, reopened on Sunday after a seven-day closure.
Trat had ordered the tourist island closed from April 23 to May 1 after two people were found infected with Covid-19.
Plapplueng Permsap, head of the provincial tourism promotion club, said the closure was to help contain the spread of the virus and no new cases were reported in the past seven days.
However, she said Covid surveillance remains high on the island and visitors are required to strictly observe preventative measures.
According to Ms Plapplueng, visitors must have certificates showing they are free of Covid and the proof must be issued within 72 hours and by state-certified medical facilities. "Visitors should take the virus tests in their own provinces rather than getting ones here, to help reduce the burden on the province and local public health officials," she said.
