But israel says its not there just yet. As those negotiations continue, the bay area university, where propalestinian protesters are engaging in a back and forth of their own using the c slur and then saying that asians are ruining this country. They need to leave. Scary moments on a bus filled with students, a man on an antiasian tirade pulls out a taser the way some parents believe San Francisco is falling short and in tense moments as Severe Weather sweeps across parts of the united states. We know at least one person died and even more tornadoes touched down overnight. The damage coming to light this morning as the sun comes up. This is today in the bay thanks so much for joining us on this tuesday morning. Im kris sanchez and im Ginger Conejero saab. Well chris, you mentioned it. As the sun comes up, i dont know if the sun is going to come up. Its been beautiful still for the past couple of days. So breezy though. And carrie, we were really hoping that that rain would wipe down some of the pollen in the air thats making us miserable but miserable not to be working. Yeah, well, it only is temporary, so maybe a few hours when it does scrub the air of that pollen. The next day, once the sun comes out and it warms up. Well, were right back to seeing all of that floating through the air. And were starting out this morning in the low 50s for the south bay, upper 40s for parts of the east bay and for the north bay. Were in the mid 40s. So a cool start. And in berkeley, as youre getting out the door, we are going to feel temperatures in the low 50s. Then as we go throughout the day, another sunny one with comfortable temperatures. Were up to 70 at 4 00 and oakland will see a high of 71 today, while San Francisco will be in the mid 60s. Expect a high of 73 in san jose, so ill be tracking the warm up that weve all been talking about thats coming up in the full microclimate forecast. Back to you. Thanks a lot, carrie. Breaking news this morning in the middle east. Heres a live look in rafah on the gaza strip, where more than 100,000 palestinians are now amassed. Overnight, israel escalated its push into rafah. Forces are now conducting what israel calls a special operation. The military claims troops are targeting a specific area in eastern rafah being used by Hamas Terrorists. Israel has also gained control of the gaza side of the rafah Border Crossing and before launching the strike, israel says palestinians there were warned to clear the area and move over to a neighboring humanitarian zone. Now, as all of this plays out on the International Stage here in the bay area, students continue to camp out on their College Campuses today in the bays. Tom bob redell joins us from stanford university. Bob, today marks seven months since that horrific october 7th terrorist attack in which more than 100 people were killed and more than 100 were taken hostage. Correct. Over a thousand People Killed. Good morning to you, chris and ginger. Yes, were here at stanford university, one of the many campuses not only throughout the bay area, but throughout the country, where they have protesters camped out calling for peace in the gaza strip. But its not clear if there will be any peace any time soon. Israel says that the cease fire deal that hamas has accepted was, quote, far from israels demands. Israel says it is sending a delegation to work on the proposal. Cia director bill burns, also in the region, assisting with negotiations. The idf says it conducted a, quote, very limited counterterrorism operation in eastern rafah that is the southernmost city in the gaza strip. After dropping leaflets in that region asking roughly 100,000 Palestinian Civilians to leave the area. However, israel says this is not the start of the large scale ground offensive that Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu has been threatening for months. Like here at stanford, the war in gaza is front and center at the San FranciscoState University campus. Thats where University President lynn mahoney yesterday held direct, very public discussions with propalestinian students, some of whom set up that encampment a week ago. They are demanding the school disclose investments with companies doing business with israel and then divest last night, students at the encampment were feeling that their voices are being heard. I think, honestly, were feeling pretty good. Were feeling pretty energized about what happened. I think its just great that we were able to have this dialog with our president , and now were able to, you know, go back and decide kind of how we want to move forward. Later today, President Biden will deliver a speech during a holocaust remembrance ceremony where he will honor the 6 million jewish People Killed in the holocaust and denounce antisemitism through a spokesperson, the president has indicated, quote, there is no place on any campus or anywhere for antisemitism. There is no place for hate speech or threats of violence against the jewish people. Reporting live here at stanford university, bob redell. Today in the bay. All right. Thank you, bob, and thanks for getting those numbers right. I made a mistake. Thanks. Well, happening today in San Francisco, another Pretrial Hearing for the man who violently attacked paul pelosi as he awaits sentencing in his federal trial. David depape may be sentenced up to 50 years in his federal case that is scheduled for may 17th. Some antioch families are breathing a sigh of relief this morning after police captured a man accused of murder. Investigators ordered a lockdown yesterday in a neighborhood near gentry town drive and putnam street. This is video from nbc bay area sky ranger over that scene, officers were looking for 28 year old Carlos Palacios of stockton for hours later, they did catch him and they arrested him. No word yet on why he decided to flee to antioch. An 11 Year Old Girl has died following a crash in the south bay. That that was involving a suspected drunk driver. Now the crash happened more than a week ago on foothill boulevard in cupertino. Police say adam wu was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he crashed his pickup into a car. He then hit a power pole and collided with four children who were on the sidewalk. Three of those children, ranging in age from 4 to 8, survived the Alameda CountySheriffs Office is mourning the death of one of their own, who they say died at the hands of a drunk driver. 911 dispatcher antoinette fino died the night of may 5th in san leandro on her way to work in a social media post, the agency says her car was struck by another car and the driver of that car was arrested for driving under the influence. Law enforcement officers rather later held a procession for her, remembering her as a mother and a friend to many. So terrible. We have new video this morning from a freeway shooting in the east bay. Police say Dominic Taylor is accused of pointing a pistol out his car window and firing several shots. This allegedly happened while he was driving on 580 near seminary avenue in oakland back in march. Officers used dash cam video from a witness to track that suspect down. Fortunately no one was hurt in that shooting. Well, San Francisco police are trying to locate a man who terrified and insulted a bus full of passengers. Muni so far is not releasing the video, saying police are reviewing it, but it is believed to show a man yelling racist antiasian slurs before he took some kind of stun gun out. The man never used the device, but the bus was filled with Lowell High School students , and the mother of one student says her sons been traumatized by whats happened and says the city is not doing enough to address the growing hate in San Francisco. He has to take Public Transportation every day, and so do a lot of young kids. And theres been a lot of asian hate in our city, but not a lot of, you know, responsive accountability. She says her son eventually got off the bus and hid behind a tree. Police did eventually catch up with the bus, but the man who had already exited and could not be found. New overnight. We are seeing devastating impacts of Severe Weather in the central u. S. Carrie, youve been watching that, and we know that this is going to have a continuing lingering effect. Yeah, i mean, anytime you have storm damage like this, its going to take a while before it cleans up and you get it cleaned up. And weve had heard that at least one person is confirmed dead after that tornado touched down in oklahoma. And thats the video that we were seeing left behind in barnsdall in the northeastern part of the state. Now, we are also hearing that several homes have been completely destroyed and piles of debris can be seen for miles. And theres also reports of downed trees and power lines. And authorities there say multiple people there were hurt by this storm. And its unclear exactly how many. And this Holiday Inn Hotel suffered extensive damage after the storm blew in bartlesville, also in northern oklahoma, and there were numerous reports of the damage of structures, roofs, fences and downed power lines throughout the area, and thousands of customers still remain without power. And in tennessee, two tornadoes were confirmed to have touched down in middle tennessee yesterday. Several homes were damaged after one of the twisters hit the small city of smithville, about two hours west of knoxville, and another tornado touched down in lebanon, about 25 miles east of nashville. And the National Weather service will get out there and survey that damage today to make a final determination about the strength of those tornadoes. And now, as we get a look at some of the storms that are still moving through those areas, this is all a part of the storm system that moved through the bay area on saturday. And now that that has moved off to the east, it is still a very strong storm system and expected another round of Severe Weather moving into tennessee as well as parts of the ohio valley. So well continue to monitor that for today. Were looking at some quiet weather conditions as High Pressure builds across the west and were also going to see more sunshine and warming temperatures. We are still starting out cool this morning in the upper 40s in san rafael. Its 50 in oakland and 52 in San Francisco and san jose. Looking at antioch and what to expect today. Were going to be in the mid 50s in the morning and headed for the low to mid 70s. As this warming trend continues, we could see a spot like antioch hit the upper 80s, possibly 90 by the end of the week. So ill talk more about that. Mikes been trying to find some lower gas prices at the pump. Yeah, a little more luck. I think the summer blend is now hitting the pipeline for most of the areas. So prices are coming down a little bit plentiful still at fremonts fliers on osgood. It still holds that same price as the last two weeks for 34. But the bay area now has a half dozen others in the state. Actually that are beating it now. So its still on the top ten, but not the best. Larkspur location of marin gas has marin countys low for 79. Its on magnolia avenue. And then morgan hill has gas and shop on condit road. Thats just off of a dozen and 101. So very close to the freeway at 499, which is very close to five bucks. Go ahead and get those reports or give those reports on gasbuddy. Com. Lets get out to the roadways quickly. Its a light traffic flow right now, but we do have a crash in Fremont South 880 at mallory. But it sounds like all activity is off of the roadway again southbound at mallory. Back to you, mike. A big announcement coming from apple next on today in the bay. The key difference expected when it comes to this years product rollout. Plus a garden of amazing and avant garde outfits in new york city. Some maybe youll want to replicate today at work 2024 met gala officially now in the books. And this morning were talking about the most talked about looks. Well see if outside in san jose, its mostly clear as you get ready to head out and we have a lot more sunshine ahead. It is a chilly morning with some low 50s, but at noon were at 65 degrees in a really comfortable later today with those highs head for the low 70s, but we are in for a big bounce back in those temperatures with a warm up by the end of the week. So well talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. And a live look here, a 101. The tail lights heading north past marsh. There is an issue, a hazard north of here. And then the headlights heading south. Theres a crash south of here. Were seeing nothing. No problems on this camera. Well check those Speed Sensors in. Ill update those reports coming up. The event with the tagline let loose, will be live streamed on apples website, and usually it is prerecorded. Tech experts say they expect apple to unveil new ipads and ipad accessories after no new models were announced last year. They have been kind of the same for a while. Yeah. All right. May is National Cancer research month, and Nuclear Scientists at uc davis are giving doctors a tool to see patients as a whole and not just the part of their bodies making them sick. The total body Nuclear Medicine pet scan continues to evolve since it was developed at uc davis six years ago, but because it can get better images in a shorter amount of time, it allows doctors to see disease progression and how treatment is working. Even in some of their squirmy patients. We can get a diagnostically useful one in as short as a minute or two minutes. And for children who cant keep still, thats a huge, huge benefit. The images are just getting, you know, clearer and clearer. You know, were getting images more quickly. Were weve been able to lower the radiation dose somewhat as well. So were really moving into this era of what i call precision diagnostics. Now, the doctors say that because of the Nuclear Medicines ability to use lower radiation, researchers are increasingly able to use these full body nuclear pet scans for diseases they hadnt before. Things like metabolic disorders, obesity, arthritis, and the pet scans could eventually make liver biopsies obsolete. Wow. Those are some major steps. Absolutely all right. Fashions biggest night is now in the history books, at least for this year. Yeah. Well, this morning the carpet for the annual met gala is already rolled up. But alist stars did not disappoint. And that includes one of the cochairs of the event. Thats oakland native zendaya. She debuted not only one, but two showstopping looks. Look at that. Well, this first one is a blue and green gown paired with beautiful, sultry makeup. But look at that gown. Look at that silhouette on that. Now, when i saw this one, she made a statement. She changed outfits on the red carpet, rocking this floral look. The star came in black, wearing a full black dress with accompanying corset and one of the longer trains seen at the gala this year. She was also rocking that headpiece there, rocking flowers. One of the big trends this year. All right, it wasnt all about the ladies. Last night, performer and fellow event cochair bad bunny wore this gothic outfit that was designed by maison margiela, also responsible for the first look from zendaya. Now, some believe that the dark florals are an homage to the protagonist in the short story the garden of time, which influenced this years theme. Well, meanwhile, no stranger to dramatic outfits, here she comes. Rapper cardi b also made a dazzling appearance at last nights event. Take a look. Well, look at that train. Look how many people were there helping her. Marge simpson stunning black ensemble. The dress by designer Giambattista Valli consumed the entire bottom part of the green carpet as she arrived on those steps. The annual event raises money for the metropolitan museum of art. I was waiting for somebody to pop out from under maybe one of her kids or something like, hey, mom, im. That would have been more dramatic in a different color, you know, just so much black. She looked like kind of like ursula from the little mermaid. And then, you know, i dont know, i dont know, i just some of these are so wild and that theyre meant to be art, not fashion. Right . I always just wonder how they got there. Like, i picture them getting out of a rideshare. Its like, oh, the dress. I know. Even like when, you know, when you get married, youre getting out of the limo. Youre like, i cant even that. Yeah. All right. Well, you dont need that many layers. Not all of that ruffle and all of that stuff. Today were going to have some slightly warmer temperatures for the afternoon, but today were not seeing a huge difference compared to yesterday. We are all clear as were getting a live look out there in San Francisco. And as we have that rain over the weekend, were now seeing how we are doing with our water year, and were still running some deficits in parts of the east bay. With oakland and concord still lacking some rainfall to catch up to normal. But other areas like the north bay, San Francisco and even san jose has had a major surplus in rain. So we are now starting out with dry conditions, expecting it to stay dry as our temperatures here go from 50 to mid 60s for later today, with a high of 66 degrees. Well see that in san mateo as well. In dublin as well as livermore, fremont, all in the low 70s today. But tomorrow we start to see those numbers jumping up another five six degrees and well see upper 70s for the south bay, north bay up to 83 in santa rosa. Were going to continue to see warmer temperatures quickly ramping up for the interior valleys with concord on wednesday. Rather on thursday, well reach into the upper 80s. So were going to see the areas of low pressure, all the cool air continuing to move away from us as High Pressure builds, and thats going to give us more of a northerly wind. And we know that thats typically what we see in the fall season when we start to see an increased fire risk. This will help dry out conditions as our temperatures warm up, and well be in the upper 80s by the end of the week. So well be watching that significant warm up for our valleys and keeping an eye on all of our microclimates. And mike, hows it looking in pleasanton right now . You know, carrie, i was seeing some changes as they happened here. Went from green to red. Now its back to orange. That means speeds are improving once again. I think that was a quick traffic break because of the traffic overnight. Roadwork also, the crash southbound 101 looks like its not causing a problem out of lanes at embarcadero on the peninsula. Back to you. Thank you. Mike and mike sporting the baby blue and gray. This morning by designer. Who are you wearing . Where are you wearing . All right. Well get to that after the break. Us to help meet the citys goal of Carbon Neutrality by 2030. Today in the bay, Cinthia Pimentel tells us more about the new program in an effort to mix art and sustainability. The san jose climate art program is looking at ways to educate and help artists and cultural spaces reduce their Carbon Footprint in their studios and different artistic practices. Im going to have a better understanding of my impact as an artist, and hopefully i can also apply what i learn with the program to, my teaching job. Its a Pilot Program of 15 Creative Minds so far, but the city hopes art can help spread the message into the Diverse Communities of san jose and keep molding the model into the future. They do this in a visual language. They do this in a way that connects performance, and they do this through their own natural leadership. San joses ambitious goal of reaching Carbon Neutrality by 2030 was approved by the city council back in 2021, making it one of the largest u. S. Cities with such design. Its good to have spaces where this can be openly discussed, where Community Members can come by and everyone talks about why this is important to them. That way we could all reach a consensus and move forward into creating the better world that we envision. Cinthia pimentel today in the bay. A new report reveals the district could soon run out of money. The impact that could have on students and teachers, plus skyrocketing Home Insurance for some customers in the bay area. The Company Announcing a rate hike set to impact hundreds of thousands. And there reasons why this is today in the bay good morning. Its tuesday for you. Im Ginger Conejero saab, and im kris sanchez. Lets start with a look at the forecast. Meteorologist carrie hall is tracking what we can expect, and we know were expecting some heat for the weekend, but are we going to get a little brief reprieve today . Yeah think were getting a break from the warm weather. Weve been talking about how cold its been over the weekend. Were starting to transition to that warmer weather, but were in that sweet spot right in between with some really comfortable air headed our way for later today, were starting out cool our usual morning in the upper 40s and low 50s, and an all clear sky. So as youre heading out in oakland, light jacket for the start of the day, but then short sleeves for the afternoon as our highs here head for the low 70s will also see low 70s elsewhere. Well talk about how hot it gets by the end of the week in the forecast. Coming up in a few minutes, chris and ginger, thanks a lot, carrie. Our breaking news this morning as we look live in rafah on the gaza strip, where more than 100,000 Palestinian People are now hunkered down. This morning, it appears israels invasion of gaza has entered a new phase. Israeli special forces overnight began a special operation in rafah, quickly gaining control of the gaza side of the rafah Border Crossing. The military claims its troops are targeting a specific area in eastern rafah, which is being used by Hamas Terrorists before ever making a move. Israel said it did warn palestinians to clear that area and to move into a neighboring humanitarian zone. All of this is happening as ceasefire talks continue this morning and they are hanging on the precipice. One side now apparently ready to halt the war in gaza. The other side, though not quite ready. And a key white house member is there trying to help bridge that divide today in the bays brie jackson is live for us in washington and brie. There are still hopes that a deal can be reached. There is still hope, and were actually learning new information about the deal that fell through yesterday. Were told that one of the key disagreements between israel and hamas was whether 33 hostages released in the first phase would be alive or dead. Thats what an israeli official is now telling nbc news. Meanwhile israel says it is sending a delegation to work on the ceasefire proposal. Cia director bill burns is in the region assisting with those negotiations. Israel pressing forward on its military operation in rafah, the idf says it conducted a precise counterterrorism operation in eastern rafah. We cannot and we will not speak for idf operations, but weve made clear our views about operations in rafah that could potentially put more than a million innocent people at greater risk. The white house says its monitoring israels military operations. At the same time, the Biden Administration continues to push for a ceasefire and is reviewing the current deal. This after hopes of a pause in the fighting shattered when israel declared the deal. Hamas accepted was far from israels demand. There has been a significant offer on the table. The ball has been in hamass court. We want to get these hostages out. We want to get a ceasefire in place for six weeks. We want to increase monitoring assistance. The fighting overseas and nationwide protests of the war continue during a holocaust remembrance ceremony today, President Biden will deliver a speech denouncing antisemitism. There is no place on any campus or anywhere for antisemitism. There is no place for hate speech or threats of violence against against the jewish people, he will also honor the 6 million jewish People Killed in the holocaust in washington. Brie jackson nbc news. Thank you. Yeah, the district has really been hit hard as well as a lot of districts across the state with declining enrollment, more than 10,000 students have left San FranciscoUnified School District over the past decade or so. And that means a loss of tens of millions of dollars every year in annual education dollars coming from the state and the feds, the state superintendent notified district officials on friday that they might not meet their financial obligations for the current fiscal year 2024 2025. A budget Oversight Team will present its findings to the sf usd board of education in a meeting tonight here in San Francisco, the state superintendent asked the district to have a corrective action plan in place by june 30th. And in a press statement on friday, district superintendent doctor matt wayne acknowledged improvements are needed. And he also said we are committed to accelerating our efforts to address the remaining concerns to ensure that San FranciscoPublic Schools are places where students can learn, grow and thrive. And due to that declining enrollment and the budget issues, the district is also considering closing some schools. Thats something that theyre likely going to talk about in these budget talks. In that meeting tonight, a vote on which schools might be closed is expected to come in december. Were live in San Francisco. Tom jensen today in the bay. And thats a conversation so many parents are watching out for. Thank you for that, tom. It is 538 now and happening today. Peninsula leaders plan a to launch a drive to boost safety in our school zone. Home insurance is about to get more expensive for some california homeowners. One of the largest Home Insurance companies in california, travelers insurance is raising rates on average, rates will go up more than 15 for its program, called quantum home 2. 0. In addition to the rate change, the company said it will drop thousands of customers because of wildfire risk. It said that after the wildfire losses in recent years, it is trying to reduce its exposure to fires. Earlier this year, state farm also said it would drop some policyholders for the same reason and not what we want to hear as we are headed into the warmer summer months, where we sometimes see that fire danger go up. Yeah, not this early, thankfully, but we are thankful that we also, over the weekend had that rainfall, hopefully pushing back that risk even farther down the line. Were starting out this morning with a clear sky and a live look at walnut creek. Its going to be a cool morning. Lets head over to san ramon, where were going to be at 51 degrees at 8 00, at 10 00, 58 degrees. And were looking at temperatures headed for the low 70 here today. And well see a low 70s for the trivalley parts of the inner bay as well as in the south bay mountain view, a high of 71 and also 71, in novato, San Francisco, today, 66 degrees. Well talk about that warm up and the heat risk coming up in a few minutes. And, mike, you have a couple of delays developing. Yeah. And one of these we predict right here every day happens about this time. North 101 slow up to about oakland road. Thats no surprise over here. This is delayed 680 southbound continues with a surprising slowdown. There was overnight roadwork and almost all of the crews picked up. But as you head south past brownley, the site of the overnight work, there must be a crew that still delayed from clearing. And so thats why theres a slow drive, i believe from stone ridge you can still use foothill road, but id stick to the freeway because i believe they should be clear any second getting over through Contra Costa County. Typical slowing for highway 37. Highway four just starting to build, and the bay bridge toll plaza actually does have a backup here in the lanes that are on the left. Back to you. Thank you. Mike, the criminal hush money trial against former President Donald Trump enters day 13 and ahead on today in the bay. The strict warning trump is facing from the judge. We want to hear all about out in the low 50s, and its going to be another beautiful day. Just a touch warmer than it was yesterday, as our highs head for the low 70s. But we are going to soon see 80s and possibly near 90 degrees by the end of the week. So well talk about that risk and whats ahead for the weekend. Coming up in a few minutes. Yeah flags are moving here in fremont, but the traffic is also moving. Thats what ill focus on. Carries talking about that weather stuff. Were looking at southbound 880. The build is on right here. A little slowing. Im checking to see if there are any problems as youre passing by tesla, because this looks a little unusual. Well let you know about that. And of course the big slowing for 680 through pleasanton as well. Thank you mike 545 right now and new this morning california lawmakers are making it clear that their patience is â– wearing thin. With governor Gavin Newsoms administration and its lack of data on homelessness and housing spending since 2019, lawmakers and the governor have agreed to dedicate between 300 million and 1 billion a year to help large cities and all counties with their homelessness response. Yesterday, during a Key Committee in the assembly, the administration showed up to the hearing without any data on the effectiveness of any program. Heres Assemblyman Phil Ting of San Francisco. What is short order mean . Were working in the next several weeks to have a half annual report produced. So why . I mean, youre youre coming to hearing today and you have you cant tell us how many. You know, we spent billions of dollars and you cant tell us at all how many people weve helped. Were not talking about the met gala. We are talking about some bay area sports legends. They were honored last night as the newest inductees to the bay area sports hall of fame. Five new members include former giants gm brian sabean, San Jose Sharks legend Patrick Marleau and San Francisco 40 niners receiving great john taylor, olympic swimming legend and stanford alum jenny thompson, and San Jose Earthquakes great chris wondolowski, who is a danville native. You look at the people who are getting inducted with the type of athletes and people that have come before me, so its a great honor. I have a lot of pride in sports in the bay area, and so im thrilled. Its unbelievable because, i mean, first of all, like i said, i never thought id even i was, you know, professional football material because i didnt think about playing professional football. A long line of previous inductees include bill russell, willie mays, joe dimaggio. The event also raises funds for the Special Olympics of northern california. I mean, to be recognized at home is cool. Thats right. All right. So for this month of may, we are celebrating and elevating the stories of the asian american, native hawaiian and Pacific Islander community. It is also Teacher Appreciation week, and one south bay educator is working to make a difference. Today. The bays laura garcia joins us now with her story. Laura, youre resting your voice this morning, but you are still shining a light on the community. Thats right. Im attempting to rest my voice. Ive had a big bout of laryngitis, so taking it easy. Thank you for pinch hitting anchoring. But i want to tell you about a south bay teacher. Shes being recognized for her hard work and passion for teaching. Her name is xiao zhen li. When she was in high school, she moved to the u. S. From china with her family, and now she teaches High School Mandarin at Stratford Preparatory School in san jose. Li says she knows firsthand the challenges of learning a new language. As an english language learner myself, i understood the importance of Practical Application outside the classroom, so i wanted to provide my students with opportunities to use the language they learn in real world things. Isnt that great . Li says she encourages her students to participate in Community Events like the chinese expo, talent shows, picture book readings, and speech contests to help them become fluent and, of course, appreciate the chinese language. She says shes also helped High School Students pass the ap chinese exam with high scores. One of her students says. She also uses game based learning to help students engage, use a lot of game based learning platforms such as kahoot or gimkit. And what i really like about this is not only am i having tons of fun in class with my classmates, but also i feel like i learn a lot more using these game based platforms. I love it, having fun, education in hand in hand. To see more stories like this, be sure to head to our website nbcbayarea. Com. Teacher appreciation week actually ends on friday, but come on ginger and chris, we know how great those teachers are. Its got to go year round. We appreciate them all the time. Thank you. Laura i cant oh my. I know, feel better laura, those teachers i mean just shout out to them i, i see my kids teachers every day and im just like, thank you. My sisters a teacher. And when were together, shes never not a teacher, you know what i mean . Shes always answering emails and, you know, managing classroom stuff. I just reconnected with two high school teachers, and it was a memorial for someone we knew in common. On saturday. And i remembered i didnt realize how much i had remembered, and they were actually touched. I believe they were touched because i quoted them. Maybe i misquoted them, but i told them the things that they had taught me during the high school. Wow. My one of the guys taught me how to properly take notes prepared me for college. That was not the intent, not the cornell method, was it . No no, that. Yeah. So that is a gift for sure. When teachers, they give so much and sometimes they dont hear back how much they, you know, impact. But obviously this is the time to do it right. Yeah. And the sun is doing it for them too. Its shining bright. I give you a little gift today on the way into school. Its going to be nice and starting out cool and lots of sunshine going into the afternoon. Were already seeing a clear start as we take a live look at the Golden Gate Bridge this morning. The sun rising, the days are getting longer and its going to be a nice day with a light wind. Tomorrow it starts to warm up and of course, if you suffer from allergies, youve been dealing with pollen. Theres going to be even more tomorrow. And also with the warmer temperatures, we go from feeling like winter to spring, then to summer by the end of the week with our inland highs near 90 degrees. You can get a look at that at the bottom of the screen as our 7day forecast comes up today. Once again, still nice. Very mild. Were in the mid 70s for concord and martinez 75, in santa rosa. But then look at the rise in temperatures for tomorrow afternoon for some spots coming up another eight degrees and some low 70s for San Francisco. So looking at our forecast for the end of the week, it goes into the upper 80s and a few spots near 90 degrees. So whats happening here is the cool and Stormy Weather across the Pacific Northwest is moving away. High pressure is building, and as that moves closer to us, were going to see that shifting our wind direction into the rest of the week, into the weekend. So our temperatures will be rising. So in napa were going from mid 70s to some upper 80s, and well see our the peak of the temperatures on friday then coming down but then rising again for the middle of next week. So a lot of changes here with our temperatures in the inland areas in the low 70s today, and then upper 80s and near 90 degrees for saturday, and in San Francisco, its also going to be warming up too, going from upper 60s today to close to 80 degrees by the end of the week. So thats going to be a significant warm up, and well all need to take some extra precaution. And mike, you were saying that caltrans is giving you an update. Yeah i mean obviously we use their sensors and we do see the update for san jose a little more slowing. And thats typical this time should ease up over the next five minutes. Right there. Oh there. Its easing up right now. Real time. But over here also they gave me the update that they had cleared the crews for southbound 680. The last of the crews cleared just south of bernal. And we do see quick improvement as the commute starts to build this releases. We should actually see an overall benefit towards 680 even though its close to 6 00. The commute seems a little bit lighter as we edge through spring and towards summer, we do still have this bigger slowdown starting for 880 southbound out of hayward and in toward fremont, catching a little bit of slowing right here. This is the dumbarton bridge toll plaza that should sort itself out, but ill check and ill monitor that. Anything unusual we point that out for you. Nothing unusual here for highway, for Contra Costa County shows your typical build. So does the north bay. And of course, the bay bridge toll plaza is now full. Back to you. Thanks a lot, mike.
