Again, this is today in the bay. Never like it again. Ooh, i cant wait to talk about this, carrie. All right, well, good morning to you on this tuesday, im marcus washington, and im Ginger Conejero saab. Laura garcia is off. Were going to get a look at your morning commute from mike in just a second. But as marcus was just saying, carrie, what is going on with this record snowfall that were never going to see . I dont know, well see in just a minute. Stick around for that. Lets get a look at our live view and where were starting with currently in the upper 40s all across the bay area. Its a cool morning for the most part. We do have a light wind, but it is still breezy in San Francisco weve had some gusty winds picking up and that continues today. In novato, were starting out at 48 degrees, all clear as we go throughout the day. We are going to see temperatures in the upper 60s with sunshine, and its going to warm up nicely for today with novato up to 71 degrees. Well also be 71 for a High Temperature in oakland. Also 71 in fremont, san jose, parts of the south county in the mid 70s. While we are going to have some sunshine continuing today. And mike, youre updating that crash on the bay bridge. Yeah, got a little more info. Chp says there is a crash just past the toll plaza as this indicated here, for those hov lanes, it looks like there are no major injuries and things should move off to the shoulder very quickly. But still, there is that unusual backup for those hov lanes right now. Aside from that, everything moves very smoothly and pretty predictably. A little build out of pinole in toward richmond. So a little farther north than we typically see. But its still there, and theres focus slowing right now. Both directions for highway four. Im checking on concord and bay point to see if there are any crashes on highway four. There is one reported for sunol, but no major slowing for the trivalley and no problem for the south bay despite a crash. Looks like its just off capital expressway. Back to you. Thanks, mike. Well hear more from that in a bit this morning. Campus unrest continues. Students are now barricaded inside a building on the main campus of Columbia University, and this comes as many students across the u. S. And the bay area are making their voices heard against the israelhamas war. Today in the bays brie jackson joins us live from washington with the latest and brie, how is columbia responding to this . Good morning ginger. So this morning columbia is asking anyone who can avoid coming to its main campus to do so. Currently, theres only one point of entry open at this hour. Now this is new video of pro palestinian students storming Hamilton Hall overnight. One protester yelling at one point, quote, lets finish what they did in 1968. Now that is in reference to a similar protest that took place at the same building during vietnam war demonstrations. Some demonstrators were seen breaking windows while barricading themselves inside. Ahead of all of this, College Leaders warned that those who failed to disband from the two week encampment by yesterday would face disciplinary action. Columbia says that it has already begun suspending those who refuse to leave the encampment. Now, those students, like in similar College Campus protests, including at stanford and uc berkeley, are demanding a cease fire in gaza and for schools to cut financial ties with israel. Now, brie, you mentioned the students there among the other students across the country. Theyre demanding for a cease fire. And this is all happening as there are developments coming out of egypt. Yeah, thats right. All of this campus unrest plays out nationwide as officials from hamas have now left cairo. Egyptian media says that the organization plans to submit a written response to the cease fire proposal, but is not saying when. Now, under the terms hamas would agree to release 33 hostages from the socalled humanitarian category. So that would include women and children. Its the elderly, its people with serious medical conditions. Now, if hamas agrees , it would be in exchange for a temporary cease fire and the release of palestinian prisoners. Meanwhile, just within the last few hours, israeli Prime Minister benjamin netanyahu, he pledged to launch an incursion into rafah as cease fire negotiations continue. So much to really watch out for brie. But in addition to those talks in egypt, secretary of state blinken, he is also now in jordan. Is there any development, any movement as far as u. S. Involvement is concerned . So were waiting to hear an update on this are more of an update on this. But those comments from netanyahu come hours before blinken arrives in israel to advance the truce talks. We do know that hamas is looking over the proposal to release the remaining hostages in stages. And in a significant move, Senior AdministrationOfficials Say that israel has indicated that it may be willing to accept a sustained cease fire in gaza, something lasting more than six weeks. Now, thats something that the Biden Administration has been pushing for. Secretary of state blinken putting pressure on israel and hamas when it comes to releasing the hostages. Hamas has before it a proposal that is extraordinarily, extraordinarily generous on the part of israel. And in this moment, the only thing standing between the people of gaza and a cease fire is hamas. Meanwhile, back here on capitol hill later today, House Speaker mike johnson is set to make an announcement regarding antisemitism on College Campuses. His office says this new effort will include wide ranging investigations focused on Holding College and University Administrators accountable if they fail to keep students safe. Gender well, theres a lot of responsibility there, seeing as how much is going on on campuses. Thank you so much, brie jackson. Well, now to a live look this morning at San Francisco state university. Thats where dozens of tents are now set up in a new protest encampment. Now propalestinian students joining those on other campuses and demanding their university disclose and divest from financial dealings with israel. Now, the school so far is only saying that they support students rights to peacefully protest. Its 606 for you right now and happening today. Former President Donald Trump returns to the manhattan courtroom. This is where his hush money trial resumes. Election leaders are getting close to announcing results in the race to replace house lawmaker anna eshoo, the recount will determine who squares off against former san jose mayor sam liccardo this fall. Its possible a final count could be revealed as soon as today. In the primary, joe simitian and evan lowe tied for second place. We know San Mateo County has finished counting its ballots. Santa clara county may finish its count as soon as this morning. The man who requested the recount spoke exclusively with nbc bay area. He calls it mind boggling that the recount is taking this long. Questions have also been raised about who is footing the bill for the account or for the recount. Rather, here was his answer. Theres been absolutely no talks with mr. Liccardo or his campaign. Anybody on the campaign this is done completely without any of their knowledge. And you know, they even want us to do things were not necessarily willing to do right now, like reveal the donors. Were going to do that. Following fec guidelines and midjuly, Jonathan Padilla says he challenged 32 ballots that are still in envelopes across the district, arguing those ballots should be added to the results. Challenges still need a ruling before the state finalizes the recount. Okay, so this is that story were talking about at the top of the show. There are some new insight on our climate and crisis and what ended californias two decade long mega drought. So the short answer here is dont get used to it. So researchers at Colorado School of mines caused last years massive sierra snowfall once in a lifetime. Thats when the snowpack ended up more than twice the yearly average, they find when looking at different emission scenarios, that there will be fewer and fewer major snow events here in california, and the chances of extremely heavy rainfall will be nearly 60 smaller by the end of the century. Now meteorologist kari hall, of course, i know youve been reporting the concerns over the past, and a lot of this has to do with the emissions that were putting out in and our environment. Right . Yeah. And so one of the scientists who coined the phrase weather whiplash is also looking at that study. And thats kind of one of those things where as we deal with climate change, we deal with one extreme or the other. And so it could be extremes in terms of a lot of snowfall for the sierra or even rain, or it could be the other way around too. So yeah, thats a very interesting that theyre looking at the causes of that. And scary too, that it could be less and less. Yeah, absolutely. Hear about that by the end of the warmer climate. Yeah were definitely seeing that do our part. Yeah absolutely. So were starting out this morning looking live at palisades, one of those spots where theyre always looking for that snow. It really affects the economy and also the whole livelihood of the sierra. Were going to see still some dry conditions, but we are watching out for a mix of rain and snow going into the weekend. If youre going there, travel may be a little bit hazardous at times as our temperatures go from mid 20s to the low 40s for the weekend. Here at home, were enjoying some nice spring weather and were going to see temperatures today headed for the mid 70s, low 70s for dublin and in mountain view, 71 degrees for today. So well continue to see slightly warmer temperatures. Ill talk about that in just a few minutes. And mike, youve been tracking where we can find some lower gas prices. Yeah. Happy to report. We have the best in the state. Todays listings. Thats the same though that weve had for the last week and a half. Its the fliers price for 34 at fliers in fremont. The shop is on osgood road. Its been that same price, but everywhere else seems to be going up a bit. San jose has a new leader, though. For 79 at quick serve on alum rock avenue and in marin county, we have the low of 483. Thats at mill valleys arco on redwood highway at the bottom here, the very bottom list gasbuddy. Com, where you can report or find out the prices near you. Looking at the roadways, were looking at a smooth drive for the most part, san jose does have a new crash. The one off of capital expressway. Not an issue. The one north 101 here about story road may have two lanes blocked right now. Their crews should be arriving on scene any second, but its right as we get that second build coming up. Over the next 20 minutes. Vasco road slows, but highway four really slow. I believe theres one construction crew that is clearing from concord. Well check on that. Coming up, back to you. Thanks, mike. Well, in the wake of long federal delays, theres renewed hope for some students needing a financial boost to attend college. Sounds good. Coming up, californias new and extended deadline to apply for Financial Aid and government regulators have new requirements for upcoming new cars to make them safer. Another really nice one. Well talk about a cool down in our weekend forecast coming up. And now making nice once again the bay bridge toll plaza. Were back to. There you go. The advantage and the smooth drive here at the hov lanes. The crash just past the toll plaza looks like its cleared without any injuries and actually without any more disturbance. Well track the ripple if there is one coming up. Well good morning. Very happy tuesday day to you. United Airlines Says its going to add flights from sfo to detroit and saint louis. The president of the European Union was asked if the eu might follow the us and ban tiktok, to which she said she wouldnt exclude the idea and pointed out the eu was the first to ban tiktok on government phones. The us has demanded tiktoks Parent Companies sell to an american interest. But there is a problem pretty much nobody can afford it. Itll be worth tens of billions of dollars, and those companies that can afford it like facebook, would likely be blocked by the ftc on antitrust grounds. So, ginger and marcus, i made this flowchart so that anyone thinking about tiktok can, you know, decide whether its for them. If you can afford tiktok, its likely you wouldnt be allowed to buy it. If you cant afford tiktok, you cant buy it either, meaning the conclusion is you cant buy tiktok. Also, tiktok says its not for sale so that you end up in the same box. Yeah, but you cant think about it. Take all the reroutes, detours, you all end up in the same place. Theres a theres a saying about that. Its like, no matter. The roads lead to rome. All leads road, route. All roads lead to the altar, you know, like anyway. Okay. Yeah. That was my. Got it. All those starts and stops, you end up not buying tiktok. All right. 619 for you right now. Well new at six fans of a popular bay area dog surfing competition are crediting an Online Campaign for helping save the event. But thanks to a gofundme page raising nearly 12,000, you can say it has a new lease on life. Itll be back august 3rd in pacifica for the ninth straight year. Yeah, im sure by saying that that raised a lot of money. Ginger. Yeah, new leash on like. Now doggies go out there and practice your waves. I know itll be a good day to do that, that it will be, well, a little chilly, but itll be a good day. Its always chilly, though. You know the water, i dont know. I cant do it without. They do what i wouldnt even attempt to do. So its going to be a nice day. Still windy. Thats making those waves go up even higher along the coastline. And so as youre driving to work this morning, two hands on the steering wheel, its still going to be breezy and the wind picks up again today as we take a look at the commute for the peninsula this morning. In the next hour, it will still be in the upper 40s and then going throughout the day, heading out for lunch. It will be 62 degrees, so maybe a few layers because it will be windy as well. As we take a look at our wind forecast at 8 00, its going to be 20 to 30 mile per hour winds from point reyes to half moon bay, as well as some of our hills, may have some gusty winds and the wind coming through the delta as well. Looking at about 1 00 this afternoon, youre seeing the winds increasing the reds and the purples show where we are going to have some of the more gusty winds throughout the evening. And thats San Francisco near the coastline. But then the wind kind of weakens a bit as it moves into the inland valleys protected by those hills. So were going to see temperatures today still in the low to mid 70s. Really nice. Very much like yesterday. But it will be a touch warmer tomorrow with a high of 77 in dublin and 77 in novato as well. But then looking at thursday, its much more of the same where a few spots are headed for 80 degrees. Well see that in concord and in fairfield. So High Pressure building, giving us the warmer temperatures. But eventually things are going to change. Well see the storms that have been moving across the Pacific Northwest drop closer to the bay area and give us a chance of some scattered rain. Now were going to see it very light and very spotty. Were looking at the potential of about a quarter inch of rain or less, but that may change some of those weekend plans. After a sunny and warm week, were going to have a cool and at times soggy weekend. Mike, youre seeing some big slowing now in the east bay. Yeah, pretty typical at the bay bridge there. We have a build for richmond, but this is where we have the unusual slowdown is highway four. I checked the grid. All construction crews are now cleared from highway four. There is some recovery. Eastbound but westbound. Your commute really kicking in now. So these three routes, you can definitely take kirker pass road as your shorter route in toward walnut creek. Back to you. Thanks a lot, mike. 623 this morning and parent activists talking to their children and actually taking their strollers to capitol hill. So up next for you this morning, were going to tell you about that new push to bring back the pandemic era child policy that so helps moreal at capitol hill. That is where happening today. The Nonprofit Group says babies make up about 3 of californias population, and 1 in 3 live in households with incomes hovering near the federal poverty line. This is video of other recent lobbying efforts. We spoke with the chief policy officer at 0 to 3. She says one of the Biggest Challenges for parents is childcare. We have more, you know, parents of infants and toddlers in the workforce at higher rates and not enough care, quality care, you know, enough child care workers, well paid, supported to be able to meet that need. Among other things, leaders are calling for congress to reinstate the Child Tax Credit first put into place during the height of the pandemic. And weve got a lot more ahead for you at 630, including an overnight fire causing issues and the east bay. Up next, a look at that damage done as crews work to clear that scene this morning. Its another beautiful start to our tuesday morning. We are going to have a clear sky, sunshine today, but the wind will begin to pick up as we go into the afternoon. Right now in San Francisco, its a chilly 49 degrees. I think that wind two at 15mph makes it feel a little bit cooler. But then as we go throughout the day, its going to be nice and sunny and our temperatures making it into the mid 60s. Here some of our interior valleys and spots like livermore as well as santa rosa. Were going to be in the low to mid 70s this afternoon. So thats going to be a really nice and comfortable temperature that will continue into tomorrow as well. So ill have more on that and looking ahead to the weekend in a few minutes. Ginger and marcus, thanks a lot carrie. New overnight firefighters are still working to mop up following a two alarm fire in the east bay. It happened just before one this morning in downtown concord. At one point, flames overtook a vacant a vacant commercial building near sunset and east street thats right across from the bart station there in concord. Firefighters put out the fire and fortunately no one was hurt. Firefighters are still asking everyone to avoid that area. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Well happening today, it is shaping up to be a make or break day. This is for the embattled District Attorney, Alameda County supervisors. They are expected to discuss and set a date for that recall election today. The bays kris sanchez s joins us here in the newsroom. And chris, pamela price appears to be fighting for her job from a really a bunch of fronts. Right. And she is not the only one. So as the backers of the recall effort are pushing for Alameda County supervisors to set a date for that election, neither pamela price nor her supporters are going down without a fight. Take a look at everything thats happening today, da price and her supporters will hold a public event. So will her challengers, all ahead of the supervisors meeting happening at 2 00 this afternoon. The das press conference is about an investigation into the recall effort, not by her office, but by californias fair political practices commission. She is expected to announce plans to ask the supervisors to declare the recall signature count invalid because of a number of the signatures which were found invalid by the countys registrar of voters. The registrar will present those results to supervisors later today. Another group, protect the win for public safety, they call themselves. They are going to lend their support, saying the recall effort is an undemocratic effort to overturn the will of the voters who elected da price. At issue is how much money the group save alameda for everyone pitched in to that effort. Speaking of them, at 1 00 this afternoon, save alameda for everyone or save, as they call themselves, they will talk about the reason they want da price out. They have said that prices criminal justice reforms put the rights of suspects ahead of the rights of victims and their families, and have led to higher crime rates. Alameda county supervisors could set the recall election as part of the november election in the fall, or they could call for a special election, or they could declare the special election invalid altogether. A lot of moving parts here today. They all seem to be coming to a head. We will cover this story for you, and if there are updates before for our next newscast, we will have them on air and online at nbcbayarea. Com. Marcus. All right, chris, thank you. Well, tensions boiling overnight. But this is a new york city. That is where Columbia University students stormed an Academic Building on campus demanding the school divest from companies doing business with israel. Palestinian supporters broke windows barricading the entrance. There with chairs and tables. That school is telling all students to avoid campus today. Now, yesterday, activists told to disband their encampments or face disciplinary action. Columbia university, now one of many schools where those tent protests are taking place now closer at home. Want to give you a look this morning over at San Francisco state campus, protesters there waking up in a new encampment. This was just created yesterday. And you can see there those tents lined up now, San Francisco state, now one of several bay area schools. This is where tent protests are taking place. And those protesters there, like those at schools including uc berkeley and stanford, well, they have similar demands in trying to keep the united front. I think the students here who are prepared for the long haul struggle, that is for the liberation of palestine is something that many faculty here support and are ready to stand alongside them. Now. Police so far are staying away from sf state and campus. There now. The school issued a statement saying that it does respect the rights for those students to peacefully protest and will work to keep everyone safe. Vallejo police will patrol schools today after a student brought a gun onto a campus. It happened at Jesse Bethel High School yesterday. The school says a staff member took the gun from the student. The student then took off before police could arrive. As of last check, officers are still searching for that student. The high school and nearby Elementary School were locked down. Patrols will continue for the rest of the week. San Francisco City attorney david chu is scheduled to appear before a judge today. Hes expected to request all legal claims be tossed out, tied to a Controversial Police response last year. It happened during the unsanctioned hill bom skateboarding event in the mission district. Chaos escalated when officers responded to reports the gathering had become dangerous. A total of 113 people were arrested, 81 of them juveniles. At the time, skateboarders described it as an abuse of power. At least four teenagers are now suing the city of San Francisco, claiming their civil rights were violated. Sfpd chief bill scott maintains the officers response fell within the bounds of department policy. Also today, a group of leaders pushing for a new city in Solano County will update their efforts to place the measure on the november ballot. Now, the protest is called California Forever developers. They really want to build it from scratch on land. This is between rio vista and Travis Air Force base. The group of billionaires are investors behind this plan. And that group today they plan to announce some sort of milestone in the petition process thats going to take place at 10 a. M. The team plans to spend about 1. 5 million to bring that field up to league standards. 538 for you on this tuesday morning, taking a live look at walnut creek, where the sun is beautiful coming up there looks like a clear day. Meteorologist kari hall has a forecast. Kari. It looks really good and we are starting out with Cool Temperatures and a clear sky this morning. Were also seeing that in San Francisco. Its been pretty windy at times, and were still looking at some high winds through at least today, maybe into tomorrow as well. And for the coastal areas, the hills, and then especially Solano County, weve had those gusts coming through the delta looking at warmer temperatures for tomorrow into the next few days, with some of our valley highs in the low 80s. But then more changes for the weekend as it gets cooler. But today its still going to be nice and mild, with hayward a high of 6975, in san martin and fairfield today 77 degrees. Mike, youre tracking some recovery in san jose. Yes. So over here, the camera northbound 101 actually looks a lot lighter than we might expect because all that traffic was held up from the earlier crash. I told you about north 101 at story over the last ten minutes. It cleared and recovery happens pretty quickly. I was watching the camera to see the volume. Not so bad, but some folks have shifted to 87 and 85. Keep that in mind. Heading north out of the southern portion of san jose. Meanwhile the rest of the bay operates pretty smoothly. Highway four, in fact, looks much better than it did over the last half hour, but eastbound we do have now an issue reported there may be an injury on the eastbound direction. Im still trying to get details. No lanes reported blocked and actually things are starting to sort themselves out. But westbound still that big commute coming in through contra costa county. And then theres an as game tonight. Just reminding you the event going on alongside the nimitz freeway. Thats a night game tonight. Tomorrow is a midday game. Back to you. Thanks, mike. Meantime, on College Campuses, the push for a cease fire and divestment from israel is spreading. Speaker of the house mike johnson plans a speech today where he says hell threaten a crackdown on colleges who do not get their students under control over what he calls antisemitism. This is video of him at columbia last week, a visit that in many ways increased tension on campus. Johnson promises a, quote, wide ranging investigation focused on holding administrators accountable. There are two things to keep in mind. One, these demonstrations are all over the united states, from big schools to small. And theyre not organized by any one group, meaning you will see pictures of People Holding horrible signs saying horrible things. But youll also see students who say they simply support a palestinian state and a cease fire, both of which are actually in line with us policy and with few exceptions, notably columbia. The demonstrations are peaceful. This is the university of wisconsin. Other thing to keep in mind is University President s are very aware of the power johnson has to make their lives miserable. Recent congressional hearings have led to the firings of University President s. This is the president of harvard. Back in december, she was forced to resign. The president s of mit and penn were at that same hearing. The head of mit stepped down, too. The president of columbia just faced that same committee recently promised congress she would remove a professor from a leadership position because the university was investigating him. The professor told the new york times. The first he heard of the investigation was from the president s testimony. Secretary of state of Antony Blinken making number stops in the middle east looking to rebuild palestine and better relations with israel. Hes meeting with mbs in saudi arabia. Also last day of april, last full day of funding for the internet for poor and rural areas. It will run out next month unless it takes action. Carrie. Lets toss it back over to you. All right. Thank you. Thank you scott. Now lets turn to our climate in crisis. Were going to talk about Artificial Intelligence. And theres a big effort around the world to use Natural Resources like solar and wind energy to generate electricity in a way that does not harm the planet. And were finding that there is a delicate balance between when that energy is available and when its used, due to the hours of sunlight or when the wind blows. So theres a challenge on how to store that energy to use it later when its dark or when the wind is calm. A Company Called grid beyond has found a way to use Artificial Intelligence technology not only to forecast peak renewable energy, but how to balance the grid. Ceo of grid beyond Michael Fallon says theyre also looking into ways to use vehicles as a way of storing clean energy. And a really neat example of that are School Busses. So School Busses spend about 4 to 6 hours a day on the road, and the rest of the time theyre charging well, if you turn them into a vtg system, a vehicle to grid system, or even vehicle to building system, they can give back the power that they have in the battery on the peak, so they can actually help the grid at those times. And in the summer, obviously theyre not used very much either. So they become effectively batteries that are available to balance the grid in the summertime. So theyre a really good example of how vehicles can really help to stabilize the grid. Using ai to balance the grid may help us transition to green energy sources. Much more quickly and efficiently, so well post how you can learn more about grid beyond on our website on nbc bay area. Com, and look for this story on our climate in crisis page. Useful information. Thanks, gary. Well, today is National Adopt a shelter pet day and it is time to help clear the shelters of cats and dogs once again today in the bays bob redell with the cool assignment of the day, he is live for us this morning over at the aspca in dublin. And bob, who are you with this morning . Weve got well, this is sandy. Morning, sandy. Good to see you. Thanks for getting up early. Shes with the east bay spca here in dublin. Of course, this right here is light, bright, five month old puppy and you were expressing disappointment, i guess, in shock that shes been here two and a half months and hasnt been adopted most of her life. Yeah she came in from one of our partner shelters and shes super smart and sweet and these adorable floppy ears. And we cant believe shes been with us this long. You were saying earlier that a lot of dogs usually would be around for two weeks. Yeah, and now theyre taking two months. They are. Whats going on . You think . Yeah. Yeah its really hard. A lot of people arent necessarily able with housing to either keep their pets or have a pet. And its really rough and its affecting lots of shelters. And when we cant get them out, we cant help our partners. And so yeah, we dont want to see a puppy grow up in the shelter. Of course, we give them lots of love, but its not a home. And you said there is some residual from covid with the people. Werent people werent able to do that then. And so theres a bigger population out there still. There are definitely theres lots of puppies out there. So theres definitely a lot of opportunities to find your right match. You and i have rescued animals. Yeah, ive been great for my family. I know its been great for yours. What do you say to someone, though, who has not rescued an animal, come to a shelter, maybe has a misconception . Yeah, i mean, its amazing. I know all the types of animals that we have and the effect that it can have on your life. I mean, i know that theres lots of studies that show how much they relax you and can help you get fed. And, you know, we can help you. Thats one thing were all about matchmaking. You know, whether a puppy is your right fit, a senior dog. Its amazing. And were here to support you. Like her. We have tons of Training Classes so that this little smart girl can learn how to dog properly. And would she be for a family . Definitely. I mean, shes terrific. I mean, anybody, you know, it all depends. Youve got her kicking. Yeah, it hit her. Oh, he found her. Depends on what youre looking for. There we go. Oh, yeah, i love it. You might be looking for somebody to just hang out and watch movies with. You might be looking for somebody to go for a run with. Shes got lots of energy, and so, yeah, thats what we can help you. And she seems like shes house trained. I havent seen her do an accident yet in ten minutes. Been shes been running around. So. Puppy. All right. And you guys just celebrate 150th. We did last week. Wow yeah, well, congratulations. And again today is National Adopt a shelter pet day. If you, youre interested in life, right . Theyre going to be open tomorrow here at the dublin. Spca, of course, in the east bay. And im telling you, somebody whos, rescued dogs, cats, they they do change your life for the better. So highly recommend to look into this. Yeah. Marcus. Ginger. Yeah. Ive heard that time and time again for folks who have adopted those pets. I mean, the thing about is your family has to be ready for that. It is a responsibility. But im told that it is such a joy for those families. So i know, and bobs a pro. He found that tickle spot right away. She loves you already. Yeah. Thanks bob. Yeah. So get out there and adopt if you can. And then if you have those pets, take them out for a walk. Yes, absolutely. Its going to be a beautiful day. Were going to see more sunshine. Did you like yesterdays weather . Its going to repeat today. So were starting out cool. And yes, theres still a breezy wind in San Francisco, wind already coming in from the west at 14mph. And it will get stronger as we go throughout the day. But our temperatures are back to the low 70s for the south bay, los gatos today will see a high of 71 there, 75 in morgan hill and much of the east bay in the mid 70. Concord 75, antioch 77 and pleasanton will see a high of there of 72 degrees, some upper 60s for redwood city, as well as san mateo and San Francisco in the low to mid 60s. Today, downtown 65, mill valley 66, and in santa rosa were going to see a temperature up to about 75. Today well see more of these warm afternoons, cool mornings, but eventually its going to cool down for all of us. And this weekend there will be a quick chance of a spot shower or two, some light rain and snow for the sierra, and that moves out by late saturday into sunday. There still may be some rain just to our north, but notice that the cooler air is coming in and that will be with us through the beginning of next week. In terms of how much rain we may see, it doesnt look like a lot here in the light blue areas. Thats a quarter inch of rain or less. So maybe a few hundredths of an inch of rain and it could be slightly higher for the coastline as well as parts of the north bay. Were just going to feel a big drop in temperatures. So take a look at the next ten days in san jose. Were going from upper 70s to only 61 on saturday. Thats our afternoon plans is trying to stay warm. Were going to have a brief visit of winter once again, as well as more clouds, some spotty showers, and then we start to see those temperatures rebounding on sunday into early next week so we can enjoy the warm and sunny weather in the near term. Because once again, its going to change for the weekend. San francisco will be in the upper 50. Mike, you start with a look at some of south bay slowing. Yeah, we had that earlier crash which cleared its story. So thats great for 101. We have a build though and that was not before the folks may have adjusted. So 8587 280. Were all seeing that come toward me. Thats northbound through san jose. Typical commute pattern. And actually not so bad considering that earlier crash. The east bay shows a smooth drive. Another crash reported somewhere in pleasanton. 680 does slow down a bit southbound, but thats pretty typical. This crash may be affecting 580 out of the altamont pass. Looks like its closer to airway than it is toward north livermore. Toward north greenville. Everything else is a pretty typical pattern. Back to you. Thanks a lot, mike. Happening now. The deadline to cancel your Student Loan Debt is quickly approaching. It arrives at midnight, and here is what you need to know. In order to be considered, you will have to consolidate your loans.
