A lot of things happening over the next five days. Right now it is the wind, the clouds, and eventually the ran spelling into the north bay. There is the creek right now, you can see across Sonoma County come on approach to San Francisco within the next hour or two, and eventually after 9 00 tonight heading into the south bay. Notice satellite trend here, mostly cloudy skies, not a lot of my start with this particular weather system and it should scoot through pretty quickly. By 9 00 tonight most of the rain in the north bay. After 9 00, it transitions into the Santa Cruz Mountains and around the south bay. Notice the blue and green indicating a third of an inch of rain across Sonoma County and less than a quarter of an inch in san jose. Bigger changes around the corner, one more rain chance into tuesday, and then strong highpressure mizzen, this is the big change up over the next five days, it is going to lead to some warming, but also offshore wind point we will be watching that closely wednesday and thursday where the mountains could get gusts up to 50 Miles Per Hour as you head into thursday morning. Please also investigating a deadly headon crash in the oakland hills. You are looking at the deadly aftermath just east of mountain boulevard. The crash happened early this morning just before 5 00. Police say the driver of the red car struck the suv, which was going in opposite direction. A passenger in the suv died at the scene. Five other people, including the drivers of both parties, were injured. Right now, it is not clear what led up to this crash. Keep your car locked and be aware of your surroundings, that is the message from police after a woman stole a car while it was being worked on. Last week, and then was detailing a car for a customer and the doors were unlocked, the keys were in the ignition. That is when a woman jumped in the car, turned it on, and took off. The worker was dragged by the car as the woman drove away. Police later tracked her down and arrested her, the worker wasnt seriously hurt. Has been going amazing, a lot of people coming out. Some of my fondest memories are busking. When people arent expecting music, you get this whole other joy out of them. Reporter they are part of a launch of what is being called a busk it. Today on the sidewalks along Market Street. Busk it celebrates bringing professional musicians to the sidewalks, to local businesses on Market Street, to create a joint music for passersby and folks going to the cafe, the theater. Reporter and it is happening in a neighborhood looking to try something new. This is part of a vision for the midmarket neighborhood that really leans into the wonderful Creative Infrastructure we have here, and what i mean by that is on three blocks 17,000 Live Performance seats, a fabric of Community Cultural organizations. Reporter the new effort to revitalize the area kicked off today at eight different locations. Between fifth and eighth streets on Market Street in San Francisco, we will have 20, 25 musicians playing throughout the day, and following today, you can enjoy a 40 more weeks of live music on Market Street. The city has de to transform the area around human plaza, which has faced challenges with homelessness and drugs. A few blocks away, there were some people enjoying the activation. Thinit is great tha city is investing in artists and bringing people out to enjoy the mans spaces, and i happen to be fans of these bans. Point tomorrow marks one year since one of the worst floods to hit Northern California in recent memory. Shortly after midnight on march 11th, 2023, the pajaro river levee broke and not sent water rushing into the small town of pajaro in monterey county. The majority of the homes there flooded, displacing about 3500 people. It later came to light that federal officials knew for decades that the levee was at risk of failing. Shortly after the flooding, emergency repairs were made on the levee, but a more permanent solution still hasnt started to work on the project is expected to start later this year. Towards walnut creek, currently 58 degrees, see the trees moving out of it, westwind at 13 point downtown San Francisco, thats where the stronger winds are, 57 in San Francisco, winds at times 15 to 25 Miles Per Hour close to San Francisco. Right now, Sonoma County, starting to see the rain pushing onshore. This is going to drop from north to south between now and about 3 a. M. You are starting to see a little bit more here offshore, as expected, mainly evening to overnight rain chance here. Not much behind it, already starting to get that clearing up on the north coast. This is what is headed our way as we head into tonight, so notice for the north bay, top rain coming in from now until about 10 00. And then by 11 00, San Francisco southward will begin to see the showers passing through san jose in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Right now, doesnt look like it is going to have an impact on the monday morning commute. And the top rain totals, right there in Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains, we are likely to see identical rain totals with the monday night and tuesday rain chance, so get used to seeing that picture there. Top rain totals should be in the north bay, maybe about a third of an inch to half inch on the hills of Sonoma County. By tomorrow morning, isolated showers will be moving out, upper 40s to start the day. Partly cloudy skies. Monday will look a lot like today. A dry daytime, but as we head towards the evening, the next rain chance drops down the coast. So, kind of similar timing monday night on into early Tuesday Morning. There goes the rain. But unlike monday morning, might have some showers lingering for the Tuesday Morning commute. A little bit of rain at times on tuesday. After that, the skies clear and the wind is something we are going to watch as High Pressure builds in right across to our north. Low pressure dropping down towards arizona on thursday. The Pressure Gradient between the two will create some north to offshore wind at times, which the peak of that went well likely be Late Wednesday into thursday. Notice the direction of the wind arrows and the color coding, top wind arrows just before sunrise on thursday morning. A little breezy on thursday, but 70 is in reach. Less gusty on the hills and more warming as we head into friday, and next weekend, look at those heads. Midtoupper 70s possible for next weekend. And no rain chances for a change as we head through next weekend. Notice San Francisco close to 70 on friday and saturday as the wind backs off. Once we get to the 70s thursday, might be staying there for a while. Seven to 10 day outlook beyond next weekend, keeps those mid 70s around beyond next sunday, too.
