Prop 1 this is statewide. California voters are divided on this proposition. It seeks to expand the states Mental Health infrastructure and commit billions of dollars in new funding to address homelessness. About 50 of the votes have been counted. And its about 50 50 split. If approved prop 1 would authorize the State Government to borrow and spend more than 6 billion in bonds to expand the states homeless, housing and Mental Health facilities. Its described as the first major update to the Mental Health system in 20 years. Prop 1 was championed by governor knew some and other newsome. It needs a simple majority to pass all bay area counties appear to be voting in favor of this measure. In San Francisco now, a series of propositions addressing policing, drug use and housing are headed for passage and that is sparking a new debate about the citys progressive politics. The four props deal with money for transitional housing incentives to convert commercial space into housing, Police Oversight reforms and Drug Screening and treatment for people getting welfare assistance. A coalition of progressive groups that opposed the measures, especially props e and f are concerned about the political direction that San Francisco is headed. The preliminary results from last night were very disappointing and i think it was the way i took it is that our the tech billionaires and millionaires the funders behind prop e and prop f were able to mislead voters. Reporter earlier today Assemblymember Evan low was within 2,000 votes and said he is hopeful he can close the gap, especially with so many votes left.
