Reporter he was one a star baseball player here at sarah high at san mateo. But now Danny Serafini is behind bars in connection of the 2021 murder of his fatherinlaw in north lake tahoe. Danny serafini and Samantha Scott are in custody tonight after being arrested in nevada for their connection to the 2021 murder of 70yearold effort gary spohr and the attempted murder of his wife, 61yearold. Spohr was found dead by a gunshot wound inside his north lake tahoe home. His wife, wendy, was shot too, surviving the injury, but passing away a year later. The Sheriffs Office said both victims are serafinis inlaw. A man wearing a hoodie and a face mask, walking near the lake tahoe home several hours before the murder took place. Eventually running into the driveway of the home. Authorities now believe the man is serafini. We do believe that masked individual was, in fact, serafini. At this time, im unable to comment on Samantha Scotts involvement due to an ongoing investigation. Serafini was a star baseball player at sarah high in the early 1990s, getting drafted in the major league draft. And investigators say serafini and scott know each other and scott knew the victims as well. Samantha scott was an associate of the family. I believe she acted as a nanny at some point or family friend. Reporter the Placer CountySheriffs Office is now awaiting their extradition from nevada into Placer County.
