Biden announced a similar idea before after meeting with ticketing companies who charge convenience fees and other charges youre not told about until checkout. Junk fees are not a matter for the wealthy very much, but theyre a matter for working folks like the homes i grew up in, and they can add hundreds of dollars and month and make it harder for families and pay their bills. I think its just wrong. The new rules dont mean you cant charge extra. It means you cant advertise one price and then add in a whole bunch of things at checkout, if youre comparing hotel prices, for instance, one hotel might tell you the honest price and the other advertises a lower price, only to tell you the true price at checkout, and that might be even more. Now, a government pushing a platform for content punishing, rather, a platform for content, rubs up against the first amendment, for sure. Does it cross it . The Supreme Court is set to take up that issue, the free speech of social networks this term. While were on the subject of social networks, just a thought parenttoparent, we in the newsroom monitor channels like telegram as we monitor battles in ukraine and the situation in israel. Hamas makes very heavy use of telegram. If they start hurting hostages, thats where theyre going to do it. They want these videos to be public. Now, we have always said monitor your childs use of social media, but that oftentimes has something to do with sexuality or with predators. Predators, that kind of thing. This is a whole new ball game, a very close up of disturbing violence that is easily accessible on your iphone or smartphone. Its something, parents, if theyve never heard of telegram im not saying its a bad app, but youve got to know what is on that app. It looks so real, too, thats the thing. Much of it is. He says hes getting more anxious to leave and find a flight back home. At the end, at noon, with the alarm, everybody gets stressed again. A lot of people, theres no going to work. My family here did decide to call their bosses and say, its not safe to get out, because the government is telling them stay home because they say its a lot of bad people outside. Reporter getting a flight out of israel at this point seems to be near impossible. The next available direct flight on Israeli Airline is to l. A. , and there is not a seat open until next week. Those seats are going for big money. We have also checked several other cities, including San Francisco. As mentioned, los angeles, seattle and new york. Now, there are flights available on other airlines like emirates. That includes several layovers, but it will cost. A quick search this morning shows a ticket from tell a leave to sfo, one way, leaving tomorrow, is almost 7,000. Last night in San Francisco, raj mathai had a town hall with District Attorney brooke jenkins. The main question, what is being done to curb crime . Jenkins admits when it comes to enforcement, the city is facing numerous roadblocks. What i have noticed in San Francisco is that we have a faction of leaders who choose to obstinate and will not come to the center to make the best decisions for San Francisco. We serve the city, we dont serve our own political interest or Career Advancement desires, and i think thats often lost on people. Metering lights only activated within the last five, maybe seven minutes. All lanes here, except for the hov lanes, thats your advantage. No problems, just a little bit of a quick build.
