But we have seen President Biden facing mounting pressure from both sides to do something about this ongoing migrant crisis. Along parts of the southern border, the Biden Administration is clearing the way for construction of new sections of wall. And as pressure there is going, the administration also saying it will resume deporting venezuelan migrants. For those who traveled to the u. S. Have they affected the jobs market and is that now slowing. So far we dont see evidence of that. Economists are forecasting an increase of 170,000 jobs in september. That would be lower to the number of jobs added in august. The employment rate expected to drop slightly. We did get private payroll numbers this week. They were down significantly from august. We have had a lot of layoffs in the tech sector, roughly 152,000 so far including big names. Thats despite a series of strikes and layoffs in the tech sector this year, including big names like google, amazon, microsoft, yahoo, meta, and zoom. Inflation has been trending down. Interest rates taken off, led by the growing heights and deficits. The average interest rate, 7. 49 this week. For one major vegas resort group, the losses are huge after a September Cyber hack on mgm resorts reeked havoc on the chains dozen properties were learning the damage and cleanup will cost the casino and hotel chain over 100 million. A company of mgms size should have the proper protocols in place to prevent this type of attack. In a statement, the company admitting hackers obtained information from customers who stayed at their resorts before march 2019, including names and contact information, as well as drivers license numbers and a limited number of Social Security and passport numbers. However, mgm says because of its fast response, customers payment card information and Bank Accounts were not compromised. Hey, guys good morning we have all seen the incredible examples of dramatic weight loss but there is growing evidence the active ingredient can cause rare but serious side effects for some users now the first of its Kind Research studied those side effects on people that werent diabetic but took the drugs to lose weight. There may be an ugly downside to the new generation of wildly popular weight loss medications, including the diabetes drug ozempic and its sister drug wegovy rare but serious gastro intestinal problems. The American Medical Association focused on nondiabetic medications known as glp1s. It found adverse effects according to the study, people who use them had a 9 times higher risk of pancreatitis and a more than three and a half times higher risk of stomach paralysis. The study indicated that most severe symptoms are rare ozempics study says it can cause side effects the popular drugs have been used for years to treat diabetes. I was on it for three weeks, and i felt absolutely terrible. Many other patients say the weight loss benefits far out weigh the discomfort. I will do a happy dance. Does the risks and benefits, how do you balance those but the absolute risk is small these are rare for example, with the concept of slowing stomach emptying 0. 3 with these nonglp1 drugs to 3 to 0. 8 or seven percent with the other drugs. Gastroparesis, thats how this drug partially works, which is slowing the emptying of the stomach. The problem is in some people, if it is severe, you will end up with nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, feeling full, floating so it is important were raising awareness. Yeah. But we want to keep it in perspective. A lot of people who are obese have issues with their heart, their cholesterol, their joints. All of these things on this side of the table on that side of the table, you have the things that some folks are worried about. How do you balance those two this is why people should not be getting this drug off the internet they should be sitting down with a Health Care Provider who can talk to you about the risks and benefits do you have a history of bowl problems you probably shouldnt be taking this drug. You are a cardiologist i imagine you have a lot of folks coming in asking you about these particular drugs how many folks are we talking about . What are you advising your patients to do and not do . I would say 40 to 60 of my patients are having these conversations. So many of my patients struggle with obesity and many want to know about other options besides bariatric surgery. They say they have tried everything, and i cant figure out a way to lose weight we know with these medications we are seeing benefits in a high risk population for lowering risk of heart attack and stroke. Before every game a kid captain chosen from among those patientn takes the field with the hawk eye Football Team. Now a student at iowa was seven years old. Reporter that little kid, that kid captain, grew up to be quite a High School Multisport athlete. Some big colleges came calling until a freak accident his senior year. I ended up 6 of my 8 tendons repaired on top of that, i hit one of my nerves so i couldnt feel half my hand. Reporter only iowa left the door open a crack. A red shirt sophomore on the iowa Football Team, a walk on. You could have said no, i think, on some level like maybe this isnt a good idea or maybe you cant compete here. When you talk about the premise of this show because im confused Printing Press and then its funny. How is a Printing Press not funny . Well, it is two guys named bud and doug who have written a musical about the inventor of the Printing Press, but with very little actual information. Nothing. They just sort of start making up things along the ways. This is their big backer audition to get producers. So were presenting it to the audience for the first time. I like to call it the hamilton of our generation our block. Yeah. It is definitely the hamilton of 48th street. Do you love singing do you love that whole start i love singing, but but. I also find it really difficult to sing. I dont have the vocal gifts that mr. Rannals has hes got incredible pipes. You guys, stop. No, this is a true story. So in his presence, im always like a little scared. Oh, you tune it down a little bit. I dont tune it down. I tune it up but i tune it up knowing that i have incredible competition and all that comes with that. Now, you guys are backing each other up. What do you do if in the middle of one of your scenes, something funny happens. Well, and then we break the show no. No. We try to keep going as best as possible. The audience actually genuinely loves it we try not to break. Do you call it out if something happens . We try not to, but were idiots. Josh as a very specific style of improving, which is just saying, i wasnt supposed to say that or thats not your line he will call it out. More of a confession that i made a terrible mistake on stage. And andrew always helps me get out of this rut. You guys are so good together, though. Are you friends off of not really. Its strenuous we have a restraining order but it is broken every day. How did you come together on this our director, you know, josh and i talked since the book of mormon, we have been trying to find something we could do together its proved really difficult we were brought this script and said, i think this is the show for you two to do. I wanted to do a kelce bio pick, but it was a little ahead of its time. Josh loves sports. Okay. If you had 30 seconds to sell this show we would fail miserably. No one is coming. I guess we would say sorry. Sorry, broadway. Heres the thing about the show, it is a true love letter to musical theater it happens to be one of the funniest things i have ever been a part of. At the same time, it has so much heart. And the audience at the beginning of the show has this big sort of what the hell is going on impression on their face by the end of the show, they are wrapped up in this idea of just having a dream and running with that dream and thats, at the end of the day, the kind of secret sauce of the show.
