Listening to these women out there, you know, baring their souls in public for something thats quite, you know i mean, its traumatic for them. And to not get a fair trial out of it, i dont think they got a fair trial out of it. That really bothers me. Its not how our system works. Reporter the u. S. Attorneys office has not said yet whether it will retry the case. Shaws attorney told reporters that he fully expects to be back in court. Were going in, filing these motions, arguing about the deadliness of fentanyl and about the dangerousness of this conduct, yet and still, the judges are ignoring it. They are difficult judgments. What percentage of bail requests have been granted or denied . Over a number of years. Youd want to compare other cities. The San FranciscoPublic Defenders Office just sent us a statement saying that they think the money the city is spending on policing and the prosecution of drugrelated crimes would be better spent on treatment, overdose prevention, housing, and workforce development.
