Late details on a vaccine and how soon it could become widely available. But first several counties are quickly tightening restrictions to slow the spread. Tonight covid cases are surging sf statewide. Cases are up nearly 50 in the first week of november. Many of our local counties are stopping Indoor Dining, and more restrictions could be on the way. Heres nbc bay areas ian cull. Reporter it was eight months ago tonight. Bay area counties were limiting crowd sizes and preparing a shelter at home order. Fast forward to today doctors say we are fully into the third wave of covid19. After a slow drift up in the month of october its started to head straight up. Because of it santa clara is joining with San Francisco, copia costa and marin counties to ban all Indoor Dining. The south bay expects to fall back into the red tier tuesday. And if it does that also means reduced capacity for many businesses. And similar to in march when weve had a rapid increase in cases we may be needing to take additional restrictions quickly. The increase in cases is usually an indicator that hospitals will have an influx of patients in about two weeks. Ucsf Infectious Disease specialist dr. Monica says that hasnt happened yet. Hospitalizations are staying low and that is huge relief that were not getting into that scary thing. Reporter like many people she was happy to hear that state Health Officials have no plan for a statewide lockdown like back in march. We are not in any situation where we have to think about lockdown. Everyone is very cautious and that a fair approach to this pandemic because we all have to think about the other Mental Health efforts and Everything Else going on. Dr. Gandhi says to get back to where we are now everyone will have to do their part to flatten the curve once again. Take a look at this. The counties in yellow are stopping all Indoor Dining on tuesday. Thats marin county, Contra Costa County and Santa Clara County. San francisco in the red shutting it down tonight and sonoma also in red never reopened Indoor Dining at all. Contra costa county closing all gyms. In San Francisco those changes start tomorrow, in marin and santa clara counties this begins tuesday. The counties in green are still allowing people to work out inside in limited numbers. Sonoma county gyms have not been allowed to reopen at all. Coming up in less than ten minutes last call Indoor Dining in the city. The big change that one Restaurant Owner is making to keep serving customers outside rain or shine. This is not the season to be eating outside especially on the road to lake tahoe. The president ially race has now been called in every state. Today nbc news called it race in georgia for joe biden. Hes the apparent winner in georgia though a hand recount is still underway. Despite picking up North Carolina President Trump fell further behind overall in the electoral count. Biden leads the Electoral College voters 306 to 232. The pressure is on for President Trump to concede. And that pressure is mounting. Today he left open the possibility that biden might be the next president. This administration will not be going through a lockdown. Whatever happens in the future, who knows which administration it will be. I guess time will tell. Regardless of the president s comments the Joe Biden Transition Team says its moving ahead even without the help of the white house. The numbers in california are revealing. President trump did break a state record. More than 5. 5 million californians voted for him. Thats the most republican votes ever cast for a gop candidate in the state. And ballots are still being counted. President elect biden also broke records with the number of votes. 10 million californians voting for him. New at 11 00, 20 million americans could get a vaccination before the end of this year. Thats about 7 weeks away. It shows three women and a man accused of attacking a Grocery Store clerk. This was on halloween night. He was beaten so severely he spent weeks in a coma. Its still unclear what led to this attack. At the time he was collecting shopping carts in that food max parking lot. Well, tonight a member of the San Francisco police force was honored 26 years after he was killed in the line of duty. Dozens of current and former officers gathered in the rain at the corner of pine and franklin street to remember him. They do this every year. He was shot and killed by a heavily armed carjacking suspect of 1994. The gunman was later killed by police. New at 11 00 nevada governor steve sis lock announced his rapid test he took in carson city today came back positive for covid19. Hes now isolating at home while he awaits the results of a more accurate pcr test. His office said he was not experiencing any symptoms but did report feeling tired earlier this week. The governor is urging everyone in nevada to stay home as much as possible. Back here at home Governor Newsom getting some criticism this evening for breaking his own rules. The governor says he regrets attending a Birthday Party and admits he and his wife didnt use their best judgment. Last friday the couple attended a dinner for newsoms top political advisor jason kenny. It was held at the ultraexclusive restaurant in youngville. The 12 guests were from three different households. I dont think he understands whats happening to us during all this. This has been the hardest year to endure ever. We mentioned earlier the new restricts for restaurants in San Francisco. As of midnight which is about 45 minutes away, no more Indoor Dining. So that means eating in the cold and the rain. Reporter its the last night for Indoor Dining here in San Francisco, and restaurantures so theyre grateful for that business because out here its raining and the outdoor tables are wet. They are concerned about the future. Some Outdoor Dining rained out in San Francisco tonight. Many diners preferred to be inside. Some came for one last meal indoors before new covid19 restrictions shut it down at midnight. Wanted to be able to take advantage of the last night for Indoor Dining in San Francisco for a while. Reporter for Restaurant Owners its a gut punch. And i said 25 working by myself with my wife we might can make it. But now its like its like really, really bad bad news. The owner is worried the weather will continue to keep customers at home. He will Start Building a covered parklet tomorrow hoping it will attract customers. You have to invest a lot of money to build the stuff now, which i didnt really want to do it. Reporter down the street the owners never reopened inside focusing on takeout and Outdoor Dining. We do our best to make it more comfortable. We just had a roof added onto our parklet actually of this week so it couldnt have come at a better time. We have heating as well, which those are becoming a hot commodity, very difficult to procure. Reporter he and his wife are doing all they can to keep things cooking but admit it is a struggle. Our businesses are really suffering, and we could use some assistance. We are crossing our fingers with all those restaurants. As we head into the Holiday Season food banks now are running low on donations and on volunteer. Catholic charities of Santa Clara County in a typical year it helps about 40,000 families. This year its helped 400,000 families and counting. This month Catholic Charities got a big boost from republican urban properties. Republic donated enough money and resources to supply food for the entire month of november, but theres still a need for volunteers. Lets get people out. Lets replenish volunteers. We have the live sky camera up, and you can see sky ranger and a bit of mist here and storm ranger is the only one here then bay area that scans closer to the ground so it can give us a better idea of whats happening. As we get a look at the live sweep, you know it is live when you can see the red surveillance arm moving around, and currently as it moves over the north bay theres a little bit of some patchy drizzle. But other than that, again, the storm has moved off towards the south. Through tomorrow morning i do want you to know well have some cloud cover here through the bay area and possibly some patchy areas of dense fog youll want to watch out for. If youre up early around 5 00, 6 00, 7 00 in the morning please be careful of that. And afternoon that sunshine returns and real beautiful weather coming our way. Jacket weather to start. Peninsula 46 and right here through the east bay, San Francisco and the north bay another round of 40ers. As you move through the afternoon temperatures will warm up in to upper 50s and low 60s, and well get that sunshine returning. 59 in santa rosa, down in san jose anywhere from 60 in sj to morgan hill at 63. Lets move it ahead to that next rain chance. 7 00 in the morning on tuesday this storm looks a little more wide reaching than what we just went through and possibly lasting longer, and thats where we could get into some higher tolls with this one. Again, next tuesday it could also mean an additional about a foot of snow through the sierra. So continued good news on that snow pack. So in San Francisco well keep those 50s to 60s next several days. Up to 66 there on monday, and that chance of rain highest as we hit next tuesday. And for the inland valleys well go from 62 on saturday, 69 on monday and those temperatures drop as that rain chance increases next week. It looks good for about a quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain right now. Based on the early information i have of course well have more on our weekend forecast as we continue to get closer to that storm moving in. Right now were all in the clear this weekend.
