Its time to get a look at that forecast for you on this election day. Meteorologist kari hall is tracking that. What are things looking like for us . We are seeing nice weather for this election day and here is what to expect as we go into the rest of our election day. We are still looking at sunshine and temperatures that are about 5 to 10 degrees cooler than we have seen recently. Its going to be a seasonable rest of the week ahead with sunshine and temperatures in the 70s. But this weekend we have some major changes ahead. The temperatures will drop and we will have some slight rain chances but a better chance of some sierra snow. Lets get to that as we look at our forecast. Highs in oakland that will reach 71 degrees. 73 palo alto. Morgan hill upper 70s. 79 livermore and concord. Look what is going on here hourbyhour outlook, we are going to see our rain chances increasing for the weekend. Right now, some of the models showing some spotty light rain between saturday and sunday. It may linger into early monday but we will have a better chance of some snow in the sierra but that same model putting down the potential just getting a few hundredths of an inch of rain. We are in a drought we will take every drop of rain we can get and cooler temperatures will help us out. Hopefully, squashing any chances we will see any more extreme wildfires across the bay area. We look at the snowfall we are expecting, this is what one computer model is putting down. The possibility of anywhere from 11 to 16 inches of snow which will be really great because we do need the snow and its been so dry recently. Even in the sierra we are seeing drought conditions. We are looking at temperatures the next several days that will be nice and mild. Highs in the valleys reaching into the upper 70s between today and thursday. Then notice the dropoff in temperatures on friday. Only reaching 60 degrees and its breezy and start to see more clouds moving in and if youre making weekend plans to get outside, once again plan to have cooler air moving in along with cloudy skies and slight rain chances with spotty showers coming in on saturday and into sunday possibly even into early monday. For San Francisco, we are seeing temperatures today mainly in the mid60s but cool it down even more going foot weekend with upper 50s starting on friday and i think more likely here along the coastline and in the city that we will see at least light rain off and on throughout the weekend so your outdoor plans may be a little bit soggy but i still would encourage you to get out there and enjoy the winter like temperatures. We will see. We will not complain about rain right now. Thanks. Coming up, covid19 cases in children spiking to record levels last week. If youre going later this evening, expect it to be in the low 60s at about 7 00 and upper 50s as those polls close. Lets get a look at our High Temperatures around the bay area. Morgan hill 80 degrees. See mostly upper 70s for the east bay with a high of 79 degrees in livermore and martinez reaching 77. Oakland reaching 71. North bay highs up to 77 in napa and sonoma. We will see several more changes here and been watching what is going on with hurricane ada. This is still a category 4 hurricane. Its really been unusual. Something that hasnt happened since the 1930s that we have had a hurricane this strong so late in the season. So its slowly making its way closer to nicaragua and it is expected to make landfall later today as a category 4 hurricane only moving 3 miles per hour. Then we will have to watch and seep what this storm does because it is expected to reemerge over the water and may possibly redevelop so something that will be making headlines as we go into next week. We are talking about a big cool down. Look at this storm system that will be able to dip in because High Pressure will be moving out of the way. We are going into friday with some much cooler air. We always have a counterclockwise wind flow bringing your westerly winds into the bay area and means more of an ocean breeze and possibly more humidity and maybe even a few sprinkles. But we have been watching this system. Looks pretty dry for the bay area but the most significant thing we will get out of this is a big drop in temperatures going from the upper 70s only to the 50s this weekend that will be the High Temperature so we will need to bundle up and seep the arrival of winter and fall all in one week. We have a lot going on over the next several days. Coming up, a day wildfire victims have been waiting for. The amount of money pg e is paying out after a recent fire destroyed thousands of homes.
