We have seen a red flag warning go up for parts of the east bay, Santa Cruz Mountains that has just been issued and that goes into effect for tomorrow night through friday. So we have a couple of time frames where we are expecting high winds. We are going to talk more about that as well as what we are expecting golden gate into the weekend in a few minutes. Pg e customers could be at risk once again at losing power. Several bay area counties are included in this weeks Public Safety power shutoff event. Cierra johnson is in downtown nappa county. All too familiar with that event here and starting tomorrow, there is another one that could impact as many as 50,000 people in 19 counties but lets start by getting specific and focusing how the bay area is impacted. I know its going to be a hot one. I cant wait until the weekend because it will be hot these next couple of days and then cooling off over the next few days after that. We just have to make it through. Now we are dealing with these warm temperatures well above normal and when you think about it in san jose, we should be at about 73 degrees this time of year but we are talking about mid to upper 80s. Here is a look at the temperature trend for the afternoon as we will be at about 75 degrees at noon. Then jumping up to 85 degrees. Wont be until about 6 00 when it starts to feel much more comfortable as we come back to upper 70s. Then some low 60s throughout tonight. We are going to have our normal start to the day but we are looking all across the bay area for the potential of high winds overnight hours. Look at how warm we are going to be. You combine the winds with temperatures in the upper 80s and a few spots 90 degrees and fremont 76 degrees as we head into the evening. Here we are at 6 00 and see more comfortable weather. For tonight, once again, it will come back to the upper 50s but this is usually the time where we start to see humidity levels coming up but that will not be the case tonight and that is the reason why the north bay will have a red flag warning with very low humidity and high winds. You can see any fires that do develop spread rapidly. With our humidity levels at 30 or less the vegetation is already dry and fire spread very quickly. We are also now under red flag warning for parts of the east bay and Santa Cruz Mountains. All the way up at the peninsula and so we will have to watch these areas as well for that high fire danger. Looking at our wind speed forecast. We are taking it into the next 24 hours and we will see those winds picking up coming in from the north. Mostly at about 15 to 20 Miles Per Hour but as you go up in elevation, that is where you do start to see those winds possibly peaking up to 40 Miles Per Hour. So our upper elevations will be very dry and also very warm. Now we have High Pressure that is giving us this warm weather but as we head closer to the weekend, that is going to move out of the way and allow for a storm system to move to our north and its going to cool off significantly. Lets check out napa valley. This will be one of the areas in the north bay we will watch. The upper 80s, today and tomorrow, look at how much cooler it will be as the weekend comes in.
