Any fires that spread under these conditions could move through very quickly. It has been hazy and we have to limit our time outside, especially for us who have breathing problems like the north bay as well as the south bay. Its been moderate and good elsewhere. We have seen improvements there. But lets talk about our high fire danger because that is our next concern. This has been upgraded to a red flag warning for the north bay and so, unfortunately, as we go into tonight, those winds are going to start to pick up once again. These orange areas including the east bay as well as the Santa Cruz Mountains will be under a fire weather watch which means its just below a red flag warning criteria but conditions will be ripe for any fires that could develop to spread rapidly because our vegetation is so dry and temperatures hot and see the winds picking up. Most of our winds about 15 to 20 miles an hour starting this evening being continuing throughout tomorrow and then again tomorrow night we may have more wind gusts picking up especially for our north bay hills. Overall, we are not looking at a really extreme red flag warning event but we know that its been so dry and doesnt take much. We still have the High Pressure giving us that elevated fire danger but then by the end of the week, we are going to see a storm system moving to our north and it will cause our winds to gust quite a bit so we will have some breezy hills. Northerly wind blowing offshore and once that passes, we will start to see our winds calming down for the weekend and also some cooler temperatures moving back in as that fog rebuilds near the coastline.
