When i say theres a range when it comes to the highs and lows within our microclimates, there is a range. I want to show you san jose is at 63 degrees. San jose is further inland. Then we have a tenplusdegree difference in oakland. 77 degrees right now and this is the one where were like, whoa, its 82 degrees in Half Moon Bay and the reason for the spike we have the offshore flow. High pressure has been dominating keeping us dry. I want to show you this map. It shows you the 24hour temperature difference compared to yesterday at this same hour. Half moon bay is 31 degrees warmer compared to yesterday at this hour. Thats incredible. San francisco ten degrees warmer. Notice some areas like livermore and san jose a drop in temperatures. Keep in mind we will be seeing a shift in the weather heading into this weekend. Well go from offshore flow to an onshore flow but the red flag warning remains in effect because we still have the dry conditions and that will be at least through 11 00 a. M. Weve seen gusty winds, that heat advisory in effect through 9 00 p. M. As far as the air quality forecast there is an air quality advisory in place because we still have some drifting smoke that could be nearby. Air quality is expected to be moderate overall. Microclimate highs for today, 80s and 90s. San francisco about 85 degrees but that could get warmer. Half moon bay, high of 79. We already hit the high at 82. It sort of gives you an idea the next seven days well be in the 80s and 70s heading into next week for the inland areas in the 80s. Mike . He was suspected of shooting a woman saturday night in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn in milpitas. Wednesday night detectives located the woman dead inside a Merced County hotel. Were learning more about what led to an explosion at a gilroy home. Police say the man living inside the home had homemade explosives and homemade explosives lab. Earlier this week one of the devices exploded injuring the man. At last check he is still in intensive care. Detectives say theres no evidence he has extremist views but dont yet know why he had so many explosive devices. Theres a new push for mayors up and down california to try to get students back into the classroom during this pandemic. The call comes from big city mayors coalition. This as many districts are still trying to iron out plans for the rest of the school year. They say they want uniformed guidelines for reopening. We know for lowincome children who may depend on school for the lunch they may not get for nutrition, for health care, for socialization, all of the things so essential for our children. The coalition isnt demanding schools all reopen at once but would like the most vulnerable students to be allowed to return including students with special needs and kids whose parents are essential workers.
