We spoke to Business Owners in the potential black out zone. And joins us from oakland. We were actually right here in the neighborhood around this time last year. Talking to you about the pg e power shut off. Were back again today. Right here in the same neighborhood talking about pg e shut off. Again. Only big difference this time theres a pandemic going on. The folks here in the Oakland Hills and those who work here. Dealing with a pandemic tomorrow but also likely dealing with a power being shut off. No power tomorrow. We dont have money. No power during a pandemic. Pg e is warning thousands of customers across the bay area. That gusting winds and hot temperatures will force the Utility Company to shut power to the those in high risk areas. Starting tomorrow afternoon. For some the lights may not turn back on until friday. All my computer orders cannot come to the shop. She runs the florist. The pandemic has already dried up the demand for bouquets. Now comes another financial blow tomorrow. Shes got at least 800 worth of flowers and two coolers. All it takes is six hours of no power for the petals to wilt. We have to put them in the garbage. We cannot sell anything inside. We are cannot do anything. Its not just Business Owners feeling the impact. I miss school. Students and adults rely on a wifi connection to get work done from home. Are going to need a back up plan. The teachers are really understanding. Which is nice. And kind of lezening the workload. I think about what everybody else is going through. We dont have to too bad. The lights are still on here. That could change by tomorrow. Pg e says they learned a will the of lessons from last year. Power shut off. And say their goal is through restore power a whole lot quicker. And say they added helicopters. And that is key. That will allow crews to inspect the equipment a lot faster this time around. Okay. Thank you. Actually pg e giving an update on tomorrows plan. Power shut off. Well keep an eye on this news conference. It just got under way. Well monitor it. If theres new developments well bring it live. Lets bring in chief meteorologist. You have been talking about the dangerous fire conditions and the wind that starts tomorrow. Give us more details. Everything really is focussed in on the mountains. A thousand feet and above. For the best chance of the gus tis winds. I havent seen major changes on the wind forecast. Youll see on the fire warning this was upgraded today to the status. And we are looking at those 30 to 50 Miles Per Hour gusts. It was sustained winds. 10 to 20 humidity values. Thats for the northeast and the south bay Higher Elevation. The wind right now is not very gusty. I dont expect it to be windy at all tonight. Were seeing wind of three to 8 Miles Per Hour. Things will pick up by tomorrow. 9 30 a. M. Well see the wind event build in from the central valley. You can see the red and magenta. Wind of 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour. Well see those in the Higher Elevation around 9 30 a. M. And continue to see that build through tomorrow afternoon. Now on top of the wind building across the mountains, the big focus is through north bay with this potential wind. Well see humidity drop. That is a critical component to fire danger. The lower the number the drier the air. The faeser a fire could potentially spread. And you can see unfortunately where the bulls eye is. Around napa county. Humidity values tomorrow afternoon at 9 . Compared to san jose 35 . Thats dry air. 9 that is critically dry air in place. Well talk about the forecast through tomorrow. And ill look at our two week rain and temperature out look. Okay. That wont cut it for the businesses. 25 for restaurants is not enough to make a living. Its not enough to break even. The restaurants that are hurting will continue to hurt. This will help a bit. We need to get to 50 . Especially with the colder months coming up. That is a big deal. It is starting to change seasons here. Out door dining wont be possible for a lot of people. Also part of the orange tier. Church services and movie theaters reopen. At 25 capacity. And no more than 100 people. We should note this is important.
