Along the coastline were in the mid60s and low 80s in palo alto as well as redwood city. San francisco in the 60s today and for our north bay high temperatures expected to reach 85 in novato. As we look at whats going on across the region its been very breezy helping to clear out some of the smoke here. As a result of a couple of storm systems that have been moving across the pacific northwest, were seeing another one bringing them beneficial rain but then once that passes High Pressure builds for the week. And by saturday well start to see an offshore wind developing, a wind coming in from the sierra into the bay area. And well see those winds at times gusting especially for our upper elevations. And with that as the air moves across the bay area its going to create a high fire danger especially for the north bay. We will have a high fire danger, a fire weather watch that will be going into effect for the weekend. Well be watching out for that along with some really hot temperatures. Our triple digits will return as we go into this weekend even though now its fall were now entering into our wildfire season. So well be having more updates on that. The Gateway Rehabilitation Center behind me in hayward, take this location for example, faces almost 24,000 in fines from cal osha for alleged covid19 violations. The state says Gateway Department provide necessary personal protective equipment to its nurses and housekeeping staff here. The east bay times reports 31 employees contracted covid19 and 19 residents died from the virus. I called the center this morning. An employee had no comment and told me to try back later. The Police Department faces the largest fine, 32,000. They failed to do the required screening and an employee the times identifies as a 4 3yearold detective died.
