Turning to our coverage of the bay area wildfires, this weekend, more home comings, but firefighters still have so much work to do. In parts of the south and east bay, the scu complex fire has now burned 375,000 acres. Containment at 45 though, tonight. Thats up from 40 last night. Up in the north bay, the lnu complex at nearly 374,000 acres tonight. Containment up a lot, 55 now compared to 35 just last night. The czu complex burning in santa cruz, san mateo counties, thats reached about a view of the czu complex fire that not many people get to see. Cal fire posted this right here on twitter, inviting people to strap in with its air operations. More than 2,000 firefighters continue to battle the flames. More than 9,000 structures remain threatened. Rob mayeda joining us now. Rob, the smoke and the haze from the three fires burning still strong in some areas. When can we see some relief here . Yeah, probably at thisroblem fire complexes to the north, east, and to the west, depending on how the wind is configured, almost any direction brings us the smoke. But the late day sea breeze did make an impact. Still seeing winds inland towards fairfield of 20 miles per hour. As we head towards tomorrow, well see a similar pattern develop as the winds lighten up overnight. Areas of smoke may fill in once again around thered, the unhealthy air moving towards the east bay valleys and in towards the central valley. I think it will be the inland east bay and the south bay that sees the worst of the air quality. Another spare the air day tomorrow and then as we head back to the week, get ready for a warmup. Signs are there that were going to see High Pressure strengthening with mid to upper 90s making a comeback. How this might impact the rest of your weekend coming up in our forecast in about ten minutes. Thanks very much. Speaking of those fires, picking up the pieces and figuring out what is next. Today Santa Cruz County set up a onestop recovery Resource Center. It is inside the Kaiser Permanente arena, helping out fire victims. Federal, state, local agencies are set up to assist with immediate needs. Were talking about food and shelter, real basic stuff. For those who lost their homes, there is help navigating the finding contractors. My house burnedonow to help us rebuild and get our house back, back online. So i think this is great. Fema set up trailers just outside the arena to help evacuees through the forms and applications theyre going to need. The center will operate 11 00 a. M. To 7 00 p. M. Daily. A similar scene set for tomorrow as more help arrives in Solano County. The Resource Center there will be at the Solano CountyCommunity College campus in vacavil vacaville. Were posting the most up to date evacuation warnings and orders across all of our digital platforms. Make sure you download our free nbc bay area app on your smartphone and sign up for our nbc bay area alerts. Lets take a look at the covid19 cases here in the bay area. Santa clara county now with more than 17,000 cases. San francisco more than 9,000. In all, the bay area now has more than 82,000 cases. More than 1,000 people have died because of that virus. Students in some parts of the bay area could be headed back to the classroom earlier than expected. Yesterday Governor Newsom introduced a new tier system for reopening the state. Each county is assigned to one of these four tiers that you see right here, four colors. Theyre based on two things, the rate of new cases and the positivity rate. Napa and San Francisco are the only two counties under substantial tier. The rest of the region purple or widespread, the most restrictive tier. Under the new rules, schools in that red tier could open for inperson classes if they hold that classification for two weeks. Schools grades k through 6 in the more restrictive purple tier could also reopen with a waiver from their county health department, but this doesnt mean all schools will reopen. Thats because counties can place stricter requirements on schools than the state does. This new goes into effect on monday. Still ahead, he broan now t group. Colorful signs. Lets check in with rob mayeda. Firefighters have been getting a real break with this weather lately. Its been nice and its been cooler. Yeah, especially for the czu fire there on the oceanfacing side of the santa cruz mountains. Humidity levels have been up and theres a bank of low clouds and fogs at this hour, which is helping to cool down temperatures inland. Youve got 50s and 60s outside. It is stillas that breeze picke afternoon, it helped the air quality. The map behind me, the best its been all day. You got into the green finally for the north bay towards San Francisco. Notice the east bay and south bay still seeing some moderate air quality levels for tomorrow. Its interesting to point out it will be the inland east bay and south bay once again that see the highest levels of smoke pollution and you might wonder why that is. Youll notice here in our futurecast using this hrrr model to look at areas where the unhealthy smoke is, usually during the morning, the winds are light. We get smoke draining down out of the north bay. Then as the sea breeze starts to pick up heading into the afternoon, watch how the orange and red, the unhealthy air, gets pushed off to the east. Unfortunately what benefits San Francisco and the coast oftentimes kind of funnels in that smoke in towards the trivalley and out towards Solano County. So a very similar performance we think in terms of that smoke for tomorrow. Its not just smoke but some fog there on the coast. Youll notice that with some misty skies into the morning. A little bit warmer in terms of temperatures. We should see numbers closer to the mid to upper 80s south of san jose. Closer to 90 in san martin and morgan hill. Still 70s bayside around oakland and hayward. For the peninsula, numbers in the mid 70s for san mateo. Low 80s for palo alto. You can see San Francisco in the upper 60s and our nor bay temperatures tomorrowsmb ahead rounds of High Pressure strengthening. Well get one round here into tuesday and then likely the stronger of the two could be a high that builds in out of the north. This isnt a Desert Southwest high. We dont think were going to get any monsoon moisture out of it. Youll notice it even around San Francisco. I think youll get numbers closer to the 70s as we head through the middle part of the week. Warmest part as we head towards next weekend. Getting into the mid90s and possibly upper 90s by next weekend. So unfortunately as weve had these cooler conditions, more humidity, especially in the hilltops midweek and next weekend. Well have to watch for those drier conditions at least, unlike last week, no dry lightning and no gusty winds so far. But the temperatures will be climbing up as we head towards next weekend. All right, rob. Thank you. Sports is coming up next. Well be right back. Its time for the biggest sale of the year on the sleep number 360 smart bed
