Brian johnson was arrested at his home in live oak. Johnson confessed to the crime when they got to his house and he wrote an apology letter to the firefighter. He bought gift cards with the Firefighters Credit cards. He faces several felony charges. The interest of this case is not about how much money was taken or why this guy did it. This happens to a man that came into the community that helps us. A second person that may have been vofrinvolved with johnson stealing with firefighter. Lets talk about the lnu complex fire. This is burning in five different counties that destroyed more than a thousand homes and businesses. Flames of 33 contained. Sadly though at least five people died in this fire. Some people in Solano County are starting the process of going back to their homes after being forced to evacuate. Some two dozen families checked in the Reentry Center in vacaville before they were allowed to go back to their neighborhood. One family learned their home was not damaged by fire and they were grateful to go back. They think their Defensible Space really made a difference although their cars and shed did burn. I felt relieved. I could not careless about the cars. I saw the house there and i thought okay, thats what matters. Reporter it is what matters. This is just the first part of what they call repopulation. The county first needed to make sure it was safe from the fallen trees and downed power lines in the road ways and the guard rails were back in place so people can drive safely in and out. Part of the south and east bay, the scu fire is burning. Cooler temperatures aiding in the back there and over night containment grew by 10 . That fire is 35 contained. The fire destroyed 54 homes and other types of structures. Firefighters are not out of the woods yet. More than 20,000 buildings are still threatened by fire. Compares to where we are a few days ago. The woodward fire in the reyes area is pushing in the valleys. Tomorrow the two trouble spots will in the north bay and south bay. On the fire lines today, temperatures were down, 70s and 8 80s. Winds not that gusty. We have the added humidity from the fog moving on in. We talk more about warmer temperatures on the way. Animal rescuers have had their hands full helping hundreds of animals impacted by the fire. Countless hurts and many did not survive. Veterinarians are playing a Critical Role in savoring so many furry lives. Reporter this fire has not been devastating for humans but terrifying for animals. Somehow these critters survived but their familys house did not. There are a lot of animals in need. The lnu lightning complex left hundreds of animals running for their lives. The toll on wildlife, livestock and pets have been heart wrenching. Ranging from burns and smoke inhalations and many secondary complications that stems from those. Reporter veterinarian Emergency Response teams have been working nonstop to help treat all the critters thats injured during the fire. They have been caring for animals in the field. Horses and even some emus. Reporter the most critical are being brought to the Animal Hospital at uc davis. A lot of the serious conditions involving burns, first and second or third degree burns. A lot is wound care and burn management and pain control and supportive care. Reporter the team has treated more than 1,000 animals so far. Thats hoped to help them heal enough to return to their families. It is still not know whos some of them belong to. Ultimately we want to unify them with their owners. The august complex fire, thats a group of 37 fires and 17 contained and more than 2,000 acres scorched there. The chp helicopter rescuing a lost hiker. Hes coming up. This is how it shook down. The 73yearold hiker was lost outside the fire zone in the Boulder Creek area. He was lost for two days. He eventually called 911 and the sheriff search and rescue team located him using his gps tracker. He was stuck in steep terrains and could not walk. The chopper came in for the assist. That man was lifted more than rs recovering and expected to be okay. As our kids continue with distant learning, we saw heartbreaking photos that stood out. These are two kids walking to a local Fast Food Restaurant to borrow the wifi. They are sitting there using wifi from that Fast Food Restaurant. So one posted this photo and went viral and thats when School Leaders stepped in and helped the students. They now have internet in their home. This is in celina and the problem is widespread and it is demanding quicker actions. California is recognizing internet is a necessary utility. We need to look at how we perceive internet. It is no longer luxury, it is a necessity of life not only during this pandemic but outside of that. They need to supplement their learning and these are careers that we are putting them. It is hard to see that picture. They do have internet but other kids need their help. The School District is putting up hotlines for any families experiencing technology problems. It is relieving some of the stress a little bit here that we can go outside and breathe that air. You can see through the trees and some of that blue skies jessica mentioned and we had that solid from the morning right up until now. For most of the bay area, the air quality has had some drastic improvements. The fire lines and conditions we are seeing right now weather is definitely helping the firefighters. You can see we had 70s and 80s today. We had some increase humidity from the fog. One thing i want to draw your attention to, well see hotter temperatures moving into the north bay at 95 degrees. Humidity will start to decrease a little bit. Over to the santa cruz mountains, we are at 81. Well keep higher humidity from the fog importing the moisture. Now the other place i want to bring you to is the woodward fire. Notice the yellow area, we are seeing some smoke problems in the north bray. Santa rosa right up to hillsburg and well continue with that wind pattern tomorrow. You will see this matches up really good with my air quality map. The big trouble spot we are seeing right now is santa rosa is unhealthy. It is a lot better than it was this week. A lot of the bay area is green now. San jose is remaining unhealthy because you are so close to the fire line down there in the south bay. Tomorrow the trouble spot is the north bay and south bay, unhealthy. Otherwise, we are good to moderate. Thats something nice for us as we head into our fridays forecast. As we start off low 50s and 60s. Well begin with some of those early clouds and making it a nice refreshing start with some of this better air quality. 60 in the east bay and San Francisco at 55 and north bay at 56. Tomorrow, you will notice our forecast, 60s along the coast. 86 in san jose, go to live moore and antioch or concord, you will notice the heat there with some mid90s and up to 90 at morgan hill. 97 clear lake and 88 there for napa. Extended forecast, well start to go warmer once we pass over this weekend. By next monday and tuesday and wednesday well have 70s back into San Francisco. For the in land valleys, we have up to 94 tomorrow. Low 90s this weekend and well see a surge of heat next monday and tuesday. Thats going to be some cause for some concerns. The forecast continues to take these numbers higher, i am hoping it stays out of the triple digit. Well keep a close eye on next monday and tuesday. So for right now, great air quality outside.
