As we head outside in walnut creek were getting a live view. As we start out with our temperatures in the upper 50s, expect it to clear out and a lot of sunshine as we gradually warm up into the mid70s today. For the south bay very seasonable high temperatures reaching into the low 80s. But some upper 80s for the south county. Well check out our microclimates coming up. Mike, any issues for early drivers . Yeah, one of those that raises the hairs on the back of my neck because its a wrong way driver was reported on the peninsula. There are no major crashes. It sounds like everything calms down looking at green overall. It was a wrongway driver on the southbound side of 280. There may have been a traffic break heading into the area. It looks like everything has calmed down now but i will continue to monitor the area. The bay bridge, no problem for the westbound commute. Back to you, marcus. The states watch list is getting longer and the only other bay area county o that sa county could be joining soon. The Health Department there says that it has an average of 127 new cases per 100,000 people. This is over the past two weeks. State guidelines require that to be under 100. That is the only place in the bay area to have hair and nail salons as well as gyms open. One county supervisor says hes afraid forcing businesses to close again will be devastating but lives are at stake. Do i want to be on the watch list . Absolutely not. But, remember, we started this pandemic, its about saving lives. Meanwhile, beginning today, Santa Cruz County must begin shutting down nonessential businesses. This is after being placed on the governors watch list over the weekend. Well, today Contra Costa County could join the list of bay area counties enforcing citations for anyone violating Public Health orders during this pandemic. Now anyone not properly socially distancing could have to pay up to 100. For businesses, it could be up to 1,000. It could be up to cities to enforce the rules. Contra costa county supervisors are expected to vote on the proposal at a meeting today. Things will look different in downtown campbell today. This is to make room for more Outdoor Dining, its the most recent city to help restaurants stay in business, for the next two weeks traffic will be closed, this is on East Campbell avenue. Restaurants will be able to set up the tables on the street and give patrons an Outdoor Dining experience. The fda is expanding its warning on hand sanitizers. Dozens of brands, we told you here, were recalled last week. Now nearly 100. Some may contain toxic levels of wood alcohol that can cause injury or even blindness if absorbed through the skin. Sanitizers were sold at walmart, costco and other national chains. Happening today san Jose Councilmembers will debate some amendments to the socalled strong mayor ballot measure this fall. Councilmembers approved the Charter Amendment last month. Consumer confidence and earnings from 3m, mcdonalds, visa, ebay and starbucks. The private Investment Firm that backed out of victorias secret wants to buy jcpenney out of bankruptcy. They are offering 1. 7 billion for the Department Store chain with plans to merge it with belke. Also in the running is hudson bay which owns sachs fifth avenue. And garmin says it was a target of a cyber attack that made software for its Navigation Systems and fitness devices unavailable for several days. The company says there is no indication any Customer Data was stolen and systems should be back to normal in the next few days. No doubt there the Transamerica Pyramid is somewhere in the midst of all that. I think i see it in the middle of the screen. Of course i will leave all that up to meteorologist kari hall. She can walk you through what you can expect from the forecast in the city. Of course as well as you can expect throughout the bay and, kari, a nice one today, im hoping . Whatever weather you had yesterday will repeat today. Our concord temperature trend, as you head out the door in the east bay expect it to mostly be in the upper 50s and a few clouds to start. By 8 00 a little bit more sunshine and 9 00 were all clear as we go into the rest of the day with warming temperatures. As we look at our highs expect it to still be hot in the interior valleys with antioch reaching 94 degrees. Were up to 90 today in livermore, san jose a comfortable 82, and were at 65 degrees today in San Francisco. A lot of the fog that you saw on the camera will linger throughout much of the morning into the early afternoon but then you head up to clear lake. Look at how hot its going to be. 97 degrees again today. Were excited to watch some baseball on it tv today. Were looking at our temperature trend out in San Francisco first pitch at about 65 degrees and then dropping down into the lower 60s as the game goes on. Our overall weather pattern really hasnt changed. We have this stubborn area of High Pressure but a couple storm systems will create some breezy winds going into the end of the week and even a slight cooldown. Not much as you see at the bottom of the screen. As we go into the weekend its going to get hot once again so were going from the low 90s today to the upper 80s for the rest of the week and then back into the 90s for the inland valleys for the weekend while San Francisco holds steady in the 60s over the next few days. Mike, you were talking about a couple of things going on out there on the roads. Yeah, the wrongway driver issue has cleared without incident. We love to hear that. The south bay we did have reports of a fire, a roadside fire, 280 and around 7th, thats the exit for folks familiar with san jose state. It did sound like it was a smaller fire. Sometimes in the bushes people are cooking outside and thats not the issue anymore. The freeways are moving smoothly. The rest of the bay we zoom out. Out of the altamont theres slowing that started up. I heard about an incident off 205. I think it only affects 205 and i think its on the shoulder, but ill doublecheck to let you know if theres any problems out of tracy. Getting over through the rest of Contra Costa County to the north of that a smooth drive. You see that throughout walnut creek and heading into richmond as well.
