Another comparison, the number of cases per 100,000 people. California has 1,000 cases per 100,000 people. New york with about 2,100. So california still behind new york on this benchmark. And lastly, take a look at hospitalizations. Again, new york saw an early surge in april and then has since declined and flattened. But california is still rising every day. New york had over 18,000 hospitalizations at its peak. Today california just under about 7,000. So while california is still behind new york on those last two benchmarks, the fact that we are growing so much in daily new cases means we could eventually pass new york in the total number of cases and possibly in hospitalizations. The state Health Secretary says we could see cases continue to rise for another four weeks. And thats going to keep those hot 90s and 100s away as we head definitely through tomorrow. And im confident well see another round of some cloud cover moving back in tomorrow and fog. Now, it looks most extensive here for the north bay down through San Francisco, oakland, and berkeley. And some of that fog for the peninsula. And then notice near the coastline, we do have some areas of drizzle that will develop. Might not be as cloudy for san jose, but notice some of this fog as well for gilroy. As we roll through the afternoon, we will get some sunshine back, and thats going to really help to make it the best day because we get the best of both here. We get the fog in the morning. You get the sun in the afternoon. Temperatures, if youre up early, its going to be chilly to start. You need that jacket. 50s here across the board from the south bay to the trivalley. Also looking at 50s for the east day, San Francisco and the north bay. As we roll through tomorrow, i have temperatures below average by about 6 to 8 degrees. 77 in cupertino, 78 in san jose. Right near the bay, warming it up slightly in oakland at 73 and my warmest weather in antioch at 85. The peninsula, it is downright cold in half moon bay, 59. Go to palo alto, thats better for you, 78 degrees. San francisco, well, weve got that blustery breeze out of the southwest at 17 and 57 in the outer unset. Youre going to the north bay, plenty of 70s from mill valley to napa right over to santa rosa. My extended forecast in San Francisco, keep 60s in that pattern of fog in the morning the next several days. Very beautiful.
