This was the last life line that a lot of people had. If that gets pulled away, there might be a lot more restaurants that will be closing. It was a similar situation in hayward over the weekend. The city went ahead with plans to shut down streets to allow for more dining. B street was closed to traffic. Businesses could comfortably set up tables on sidewalks and in the streets. Restaurants dont face enforcement from local authorities, they could still be cited by state agents. Alameda county is planning possibly on filing a state variance and that would allow it for Outdoor Dining to resume. Marcus . All right. Jackie, thank you. You know what . This is surrounding the coronavirus and here in the bay area, i want to look at the bay area cases for you right now. Santa clara county reported the most yesterday with 315. Most of us in the 70s in oakland. San francisco will be in the mid 60s today. Well get a look ahead to the rest of the forecast coming up in a few minutes. Mike, any issues popping up for the Morning Report . Yeah, take a live look out there. The lights registered at 601. Then the backup formed because of lights were on. We didnt see a problem. But now we see, of course, all lanes are showing the build. Now maybe because of this volume they turn them on earlier than in past weeks. We look at the map, we dont see a problem as far as feeding in freeway. Its only at the toll plaza where we have that backup. There is that crash in freemont. Still tracking this one right there. Things are look going so far. Futures trending up on hopes of a vaccine and the tech sector doing well. Now laura, i know before we get to the headlines you have some more. Thats right. The before the bell this morning, in fact. This might be the latest sign of a pandemic slowdown. Weve got some new data from apple maps showing a new decline in requests for driving directions. After a sharp decline in march, requests for driving, walking and transit directions have been steadily on the increase. But after reaching a peak in early july, driving direction requests dropped by 6 last week based on changes in the seven day moving average. Everyone was 90 days to fileif you were sti any other year, that deadline actually passed back in april. Got to get them done. Museums across the world are now turning back from all of that online virtual touring that we saw when the pandemic actually started. But theyre actually having some new restrictions as well if you should actually be lup lucky enough to go to the museum like the louvre in france. It opened in paris over the weekend. One of many museums worldwide figuring out how to safely reopen. The mona lisa gazing upon socially distanced admirers and aquarium reopening postponed after cases increased in that county. People are going to be able to see, you know, usually whales and otters and seals, sea lions all right there. They have not been sheltering in it place. New measures will include time tickets, hand sanitizing stations and one way paths. The touch pools are still offlimits. Looks like a lot of fun though. Okay. You might be on a diet right now, look, forget about saying hold the fries today. You just cant. Today is National French fry day restaurants across the nation, they are offering those deals for you. Mcdonalds, for example, theyre offering a free fry offer with you, of course, this is for your orders on the app. Burger king, theyre selling fries for 1. Also from the app only. Clearly, its the same great taste. But the only thing that has changed is the way you order it. You can say catching up with the times. There you have it. I dont care. Look, like all kinds of sauce with my fries. Mix it up a little bit. Thank goodness its fry day. Thats good. Absolutely. Really a monday. I think you could have cooked your fries on the sidewalk yesterday. Its going to be cooler today. This is part of the reason. Were seeing fog rolling over San Francisco. And its kind of misting and drizzling right now. Thats the way we start out the morning. But we will see some clearing as we head towards noon. Lets head inland. Weve seen a beautiful sunrise. This is actually a live capture of that sunrise coming over the hills from coopertino looking over the south bay. Now where temperatures are going to go into the low 70s by late morning, reaching into the low 80s today. So still comfortably warm. And were seeing it coming down for even a lot of our inland areas where its been reaching into the triple digits. Today, how about some upper 80s and low 90s . It is july. It is going to be warm. We do still have that hot weather farther to the north as we check out clear lake reaching into the84 in napa. Oakland reaches 73 degrees. San jose reaches into the mid 80s. The followi the fog near the coast, we see that continue through noon. We get sunshine and then back in later this evening. But it does help us with that evening cooling and so were going to have some nice walking weather after dinner this evening. As we look at what is going on, we have High Pressure to the west of us. Some extreme Desert Southwest heat that is keeping it hot here. Kind of backing off a little bit and allowing for more of an ocean breeze. But as we go towards the end of the week, it just gets hot once again for the valley. We go from the upper 80s to the low 90s. Here. Were going have some well above normal temperatures reaching into the low 90s, extending through sunday and for San Francisco, were also going to keep our same weather pattern here. Morning clouds and fog and highs reaching into the 60s over the next seven days. Mike, how is it looking right now for the reports and chp reports that youre seeing . We had a lot of activity earlier on. The activity now is at the bay bridge toll plaza. The metering lights were turned on early. 6 01. The backup began quickly. They did a good job of keeping things move on the span. We still have movement at the toll plaza. The span is still in the green zone. Thats what we like to manage there. The east shore freeway, the maze, no problems. Slow drive just in the pass. 384 to livermore. Circle at the bottom of your screen is southbound 680 heading to that mission cutover. It funneled down to that area. We do still have what is reported as the two right lanes blocked by a crash activity just before you get to the exit. So do be careful as you come around the bend from the washington irvington area. We look at the rest of the bay, south bay still looking great. Smooth flow otherwise. Back to you. All right.
