You mentioned the march began at the superior courthouse and martinez in front of that black lives matter mural which of course was defaced on the 4th of july. Well get to that in a moment. We know that the rally was planned a few weeks ago in response to White Supremacy flyers. They were circulating at downtown martinez. They only added importance for these folks attending todays events. Theyre here at the Waterfront Park about the importance of being here. Heres what they had to say. Beyond that. We have people come together and when the marches die down, stick together and help with some policy change because the marches, its going to fade away but it will go beyond that. I hope that it sends a message that martinez doesnt stand for hate and that we believe that black lives matter in the community. Those two people Nicole Anderson and david nelson and they are facing vandalism charges from the county as we take you guys back out here live. Well continue to follow the story as it develops. The numbers are in and theyre going in the wrong direction. Cases rising across the bay area. Santa clara county reporting 15 new cases. A total of 6,300 there. San francisco 96 new cases. 4,500 there. 637 people have died in the bay area. There have been more than 33,000 cases in all as a result. A lot of changes in a lot of counts happening by the hour it seems. The example in Sonoma County effective at midnight tonight. Some businesses are going to have to shutdown through at least august 2nd. Thats because the county did not improve its covid numbers over the past couple of days. And thats because the governor added the county to her watch n heyward are enjoying dining outside even though the state has placed Alameda County on its watch list because of a recent increase in covid19 cases. Today the county Public Health department issued this statement saying the magnitude of the change was above what would be expected as a result of the substantial expansion of testing and we have been placed on the states monitoring list. The surge in cases is being attributed in part to a lack of face coverings and social distancing and because of an increase in infections in front line workers. Now once the county is on the states monitoring list for three straight days, it could be subject to state imposed restrictions and enforcement. Outdoor dining was already supposed to be shutdown in Alameda County after the county found out late friday it did not have state approval. Some cities in the county however allowed businesses to serve outdoors anyway but some people we talk with say they understand the need to take every precaution. Its really hard right now. On tuesday, the Alameda County supervisors are expected to move forward with asking them to give a variance to allow activities such as Outdoor Dining to continue. So you have the winds picking up, low humidity numbers and around martinez and you have temperatures between the upper 90s to about 103 degrees. Thats the heat driven sea breeze as the hot air rises inland and we get the winds pick up tomorrow afternoon. And currently 83 and heres where the ocean air conditioning has been hanging out. San francisco did manage 71 but notice the wind speed now accelerating up to 28 Miles Per Hour so the 60s on the coast and the more moisture marine air hanging around the inner bay and coast that should start to move inland now that the inland wind speeds are picking up but what is really going to drive the cooling is the return of the low clouds and well see some of that nor tfor the morning. Mid 80s around san jose but still near 90 around morgan hill. Mid to upper 80s toward livermore. Low 60s for Half Moon Bay or drizzle at times for the morning and San Francisco in the mid 60s and northbay temperatures climbing into the 80s for santa rosa and sonoma. So the High Pressure that built out of the Desert Southwest is going to weaken a bit. Were going to see temperatures come down. The next couple of days. The next weekend more clouds on the coast and watching maybe some monsoon moisture trying to come up out of southern arizona.
