Lets bring in our chief meteorologist, jeff ranieri with our Weather Forecast and gopher forecast. Yes, i got it all covered in my impromptu Weather Center i just put together. We are going to talk about how i hope to keep the gophers out of my plants. Coming up, and so stay tuned for that. We will get to the forecast first. There have been high clouds moving over ahead today and up against the coastline you will see in the first graphic here we are looking at fog moving in. This is from mount tam, so this fog and the cooler ocean breeze, thats the only thing that saved us from getting 105degree heat right now. Could have been quite a bit hotter. As we roll through tomorrows forecast, upper 50s and low 60s and patchy fog near the peninsula, also at the immediate coastline. It will bring us down to 59 for the peninsula and 59 for the trivalley. As we move through tomorrow, no big changes on the temperatures. This will put us in the south bay with 80s and also a few 90s. 88 in cupertino. Over to the east bay near, hayward in the 70s. 96 in concord. The peninsula, probably some of the best weather tomorrow. 77 in san mateo and 82 in redwood city. Right here in San Francisco, 58 for the marina. A little milder in the mission at 67. Maybe you are headed up to napa, sonoma or santa rosa, upper 80s and low 90s. My extended forecast in San Francisco, real simple and very stable. 60s as we head through the next couple of days. We will have on again off again fog for the morning. For the inland valleys, i have the 90s continuing through tuesday and then we will drop to cooler 80s wednesday, thursday and friday. Right now no big wind events as we head through the next seven days, so thats good news for the fire danger. I wanted to end it with a look at the longrange out look. We have a brandnew update as of today and there now looks to be a 50 chance of la nina this fall or winter. Its something i will track closely, and only a 10 chance of rain as we move through this month. Okay, back out here in my garden in the front yard. Yesterday i told you about how a plant was destroyed so i thought why not i was out fixing those plants today that were starting to get chewed up, and why not show you on air what i did. You need the mesh wire and it has a quarter inch grid on it and its hard to see on camera, but its tight spacing so its hard for gophers or moles to chew through this stuff. You take your plants when you are ready. Of course its going to be out of the pot and you are going to take the mesh wire and it will cover up all sides of the plant and you will fold it up into the top and thats how to keep the gophers out of your plants. You do not want to make the mistake i did earlier this year of putting it in chicken wire. They chewed a big hole through the bottom. No chicken wire. Get the tight mesh and protect your plants and protect your investment and you should be good to go. Gophers, come on out, right . Yeah, i know. This is the nbc bay area news or the home and garden show . I am not sure. Its fabulous. If you guys approve, great. We love it. Keep it up, jeff. Thanks, jeff.
