Upwards of 50 plus miles an hour according to the National Weather service. Current temperatures cool and comfortable, 50 to 60 degrees. Cool today, but we still have those onshore winds. We will begin to see a little recovery now in terms of the humidity. However, were going to get a shift in the weather pattern. So we have been seeing winds and High Pressure beginning to build in. Whats going to happen is the winds are going to shift. Thats where areas like north bay and sonoma counties will be on high alert. Thats why that red flag warning was issued through tomorrow at 8 00 a. M. For elevations above 1,000 feet. Conditions overnight. Were expecting dry conditions like this and these winds shifting overnight. We will keep a close eye on this. I will have your forecast coming up. Thanks very much. He says after the bartender told the woman repeatedly to leave other customers alone, especially one particular man, she became upset and aggressive and with her mask down, she leaned over and coughed forcefully in the bartenders face. Before i even had to tell her to leave, she was on her way out, showing her middle fingers. The businesss general manager says she and staff wrestled with the decision for more than a week on whether to release the video publically, but they finally decided others should be free to choose for themselves whether they want to serve someone who would do this. We dont want to sit down. No one wants to be locked up again. Reporter monday, the bartender who was on the receiving end of that cough will decide whether he wants to press charges. That brings the total cases 22, 977, 568 people have died. There have been 500 new cases since friday night. Shut the bars down. Today rising covid19 cases prompted Governor Newsom to order bars in seven counties to immediately shut down, no questions asked, no debate. He asked two bay area counties to please take action. The move comes after a spike in covid19 cases prompted the governor to order bars in seven counties to close immediately. Today the governor asked Contra Costa County which had planned to reopen bars on wednesday to hold off. Contra costa county supervisors say they will honor that request because they have concerns of their own. Hospitalizations have recently increased, and thats not all. If you have had concerns because our case count has been increa increasing. Reporter on friday governors in texas and florida ordered bars closed. Governor newsom also asked Santa Clara County to keep them closed, which county Public Health leaders say they want to do. Thats a smart move says this Infectious Disease specialist, dr. I want to showcase whats going on throughout the entire bay area as well because we are going to notice the winds begin to decrease. So lets get a look right now. Bay bridge, beautiful shot there. Were going to see that marine layer mixed out thanks to all that wind. Right now over walnut creek 60 degrees. We did hit a high of 75. Breezy right now in most spots. And this is because were going to see a change in the wind direction with the arrival of a new pattern. So i want to get into that in a second. San jose high of 79. We saw 70s today. You probably noticed it was a lot cooler. And even then we had fire danger. Right now were doing okay, 50, 60 . But as High Pressure begins to roll in overnight, were expecting peak winds between midnight and 6 00 a. M. Gusts upward of 50 miles an hour, which is why we are under a micro climate weather alert specifically for the north bay because of this red flag warning through tomorrow at 8 00 p. M. For elevations above 1,000 feet. What exactly does this mean . Those winds will shift and we will get northerly winds. That will dry us out, which means poor humidity in terms of the cover overnight and bone dry conditions heading into monday. Dont get your guard down if you live near these areas. Give them a heads up because the winds will be peaking overnight when most people are sleeping. The winds will be kicking up again. Your micro climate highs for tomorrow, we will be comfortable for the coastline, but it will start to kick up because, remember, that High Pressure will dry us out but it will also warm us up into the upper 80s and even potentially low 90s tuesday and into wednesday. Notice in the sevenday forecast we keep the 80s in there and overnight lows in the 50s. But the big thing i want you to remember is that red flag warning will be in place for north napa, sonoma coupty areas. Please be careful out there. That officer had been the focus of use of force in the past. Reporter it follows weeks after we learned that the fbi Civil Rights Division out of oakland is investigating an officer. And we learned that the local d. A. Is considering criminal charges in that case as well. This video is at the center of the latest civil rights lawsuit. On the left is store Surveillance Video from happy doughnuts. On the right, newly released Police Body Worn camera footage. Julio can be seen going to the store late at night to get his son a doughnut in july 2019 when hes confronted by this Police Officer. Hes walking away from me. Reporter he tells us he doesnt remember anything from that night, but the video shows him attempting to walk away from the agent. As the officer tells him hes being detained because hes on probation. Video also shows him pushing a holds on to that fence, the report calls it a left arm bar take down. He goes limp as his head hit it is concrete. In the video, there is just a bag of doughnuts lying where he grabbed me. Reporter in his report the Police Officer says he thought he saw a drug exchange. Police forwarded the case to the d as office for review for possible charges of resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer and being under the influence. But nearly a year later, arballo hasnt been charged with anything. The best thing we can continue to do to try to deter these lawsuits. Toby just filed a lawsuit on arevalos behalf. In terms of the lawsuit you just have to hope that at one point one peace offer not just in that agency but others will look at that and say i dont want to be that officer on the news. Come on out or were going to kick the door in. We dont need one. Come out. Thats also the agent yelling in this 2018 video captured on another residents Home Security camera. The video shows Police Officers pulled this man out of his home over suspicions he had been driving with a suspended license, all charges that were later dropped. Video also shows that the police sergeant, the supervisor on the scene slamming alvarezs head into the cars windshield. And now the fbi is investigating them documents from last fall show that federal civil rights investigators requested the entire alvarez case file. I think that having the fbi essentially over this case is going to send a message to other officers that their buddy who happens to be assigned to internal affairs isnt going to be the only person thats scrutinizing their unlawful conduct going forward. I will hold this team accountable when necessary, and i want the community to continue to hold us accountable. Appearing before the city council on february 25th just before the covid outbreak, chief Robert Johnson promised transparency while some angry residents expressed their frustration with the police department. This is unaunacceptable. We cannot get better unless we get out of denial. Reporter but Chief Johnson refuses to answer any questions about either of these cases, and it took more than ten months for his department to release the body warn camera footage. The department used the report from the july case which was not completed for more than five months after we a fight here earlier . Yeah. Reporter he told investigators he had been in a fight earlier. The report is dated december 11th, 2019, said the officers force appeared reasonable. But it found discrepancies between the report and the video that supervisors thought warranted more information. We have been subject to some very serious allegations over the past year. I want to assure you that i take these allegations extremely seriously and misconduct will not be tolerated. Any time we see a red flag warning it basically means were dealing with gusty winds and low humidity at least through your monday before we see a change heading into the workweek.
