Then as you are closer to the bay and coast, you will see the fog returning. That means we will set you up with 64 in the south bay and sunny skies. Peninsula at 63 and tri valley at 66. We are down to 63 in the east bay. And San Francisco the chilliest with the chance of fog. And down to 59. The temperatures tomorrow really dont adjust a lot. Based on the fact that we have that fog right there near the coastline. Through the afternoon. We will get our sunshine and notice, if you are headed near the beaches, that cloud cover is going to stay put. So lets go in the micro climate forecast, you will see in the south bay, we are expecting lots of 80s. Anywhere from coop for the ea bay, relatively light winds tomorrow. I mean, it will be breezy and not super gusty. Out of the west. And as you head to the east bay. Looking perfect at 77. Right through the peninsula. We have a chilly 62 in Half Moon Bay and red wood city, 79. San francisco, take your jacket. 57 in the marina out near the golden gate bridge. Winds out of the southwest at 16, and going to wine country, 82 in sonoma and if you are going to clear lake, be ready for major heat. Low 100s and its due to the fact that theres no ocean influence. Look at the big difference it makes. So, pretty good here tomorrow. I want to get you in the next weather changes. We have the complex weather pattern setting up on sunday. Temperatures in San Francisco, in the 60s. For the inland valley, we will go to 92 tomorrow and then down to 80 on sunday as the wind picks up, and then 84 on monday. So, fire danger is definitely going to increase here once we hit sunday in to early monday morning. And of course, we will have full coverage on anything that happens hopefully nothing happens as we head through the weekend. We will just be able to sit back and enjoy it. I think the better day for grilling, you guys, will be on saturday. And sunday, it will be too windy to do that outdoor sort of thing. It will be a bit annoying. Saturday, the grill day. On okay. Thank you, jeff. In the past 48 hours we have seen a surge in cases. Among the questions will we start to close businesses again . And is wearing a mask enough to keep us healthy . And lets bring in dr. George rutherford, nice to have you on the program. Thank you very much. What are we doing wrong . And are we doing anything wrong . We are not really doing anything wrong. Well, we are doing a little wrong. What we are seeing is the inevitable product of reopening with some cases. We are additionally testing more aggressively. So we are finding more cases and finally their outbreaks as in both san quinton, as well as in a nursing home in contra costa county, that added acutely to the case count. So, as you start looking across the three things together, it looks like theres big spikes. In terms of community transmission, i think we are holding relatively steady, it will take a couple of days to figure out. Doctor, i will ask you this as a professional and family man. With all the businesses reopening, are you personally comfortable with going out to your local restaurore or less, have to wear a mask. Okay. Lets just be completely clear on that. If everyone wears masks we will get out of this. If some people do and some dont. It will be a big problem. There are very reliable data from asia, reliable models from united king dolls. We have wonderful anecdotal stories how masks stop transmission. Thats what the message is here. Wear a mask, if you are sick, stay home. Keep your distance and be careful in doors to keep distanced, and wash your hands. You are helping lead californias Training Program for contact tracing. Governor newsome said that he wants 10,000 contract tracers by next wednesday. Are we going to get there . We are going to be very close. Im not that sure of the numbers, but that is the goal for sure. U. S. Cases of covid19, are ten times higher than first reported according to the cdc, is that accurate . You are shaking your head, what do you think . I think that is probably about right. Its a huge mess across the southeast, and in to arizona. Then, even up the west coast in washington and oregon. And some other states that we dont really think of as being kind of big hot beds of transmission like utah. But, its, you know, yes, there are large problems through the south and southeast in the houston metropolitan area, the icus are almost completely full, and you know, we are seeing not dissimilar problems. Are we going down a slippery slope . We know the giants and the as are starting up again. Is it a bad idea, not just with the mlb, but the nba and the nfl . No i dont think necessarily so. Theres all kinds of precautions you can take. We have masks. We have testing. We have social distancing. And we have environmental controls like ventilation. I think if you use them intelligently, you can Craft Solutions for sports not only Major League Sports and College Sports and high school sports. But, you have to do it carefully. You have to have your eyes wide open, and you have to be willing to pay money. It are you frustrated how its turned in to a political issue, as opposed to a medical issue . Utterly and totally. Its utterly unnecessary. You know, this is where we need federal leadership now more than ever. And i think cdc is finally starting to circle around from where they are trying to lead the pack. But whether its too little, too late. I dont know. I think the Governors Office and the California Department of Public Health have done service in keeping us as healthy as they have in Northern California and you have to think, you know, thank our elected officials and the six counties in the bay area, and the Health Departments, the seven Health Departments that really have made this, you know, have gotten us this far with you know a relatively low death count. Dr. Rutherford, we appreciate what you are doing at ucsf as well. Thank you for your time this evening. Thanks, raj, take care. Okay, lets talk about friday night lights. These guys are fighting for one more rep. The Football Team is back on the field. It feels good to be back on campus. They meet four times a week. No football, straight conditioning. Reporter the strength and conditioning sessions last 45 minutes t workouts are good exercise for the players physical and mental health. Seeing the kids get back out there and how excited they are to kind of get back to a bit of normalcy. Its been worth it. In the first season, coach has had to come up with a new playbook. Players must fill out a questionnaire. Get a Temperature Check and use Hand Sanitizer before stepping on to the campus. One reporter workout sessions are staggered and each group is limited to 12 players with no more than two groups on the field at one time. If someone shows symptoms, that group gets isolated until they are tested. First and foremost the safety is at the foundation. We feel good about bringing them on campus, so we can surprise them and make sure they are working out and working on out safely. One of the challenges in keeping the team healthy is making sure that the players practice the same protocols on and off the field. Like washing hands, social distancing and wearing a mask in public. Its all about accountability. Just the seniors and the team leaders have really had to take charge and make sure everyone is doing their own part. Reporter and by doing their part, the bells are hopeful that they will be able to bring out the football in the fall. We are going to do everything in our power to make sure that you know, if we get the greenlight, to have a season, that these kids are in the best possible shape to really compete and win. In san jose, anthony flores, nbc bay area. Can he do those . I am so impressed i want to get on the workout. I put a book on my head to walk straight and they have to put a weight on their back and crawl across the field. It probably feels like normal going back and getting ready for the season.
