Like what . What would you get rid of . The big thing is like rubber bullets . Should you have those . We need to narrow the scope when Police Officers can use certain types of force. Thats certainly something we need to look at. Chief garcia also made it a point to say the departments need more transparency to go public on how they use that force, who they use the force against and just hearing each other out really is a part of that conversation. And it provides understanding for a lot of people. Thats right. You had several different interviews last night as well. We did. We had v. Kamau bell. What i love about his explanation on things, hes a comedian so he made it interesting and i think he lightened the mood for some people who find it hard to have those conversations, find it hard to hear the explanation on many things of using the n word, black lives matter versus all lives matter and just how to start conversations. Right. He really helped and i enjoyed that conversation with him. And you also gave great explanations about all lives matter, black lives matter, what it means and the difference there, too. Perhaps just like your family, our family here at nbc bay area is continuing the conversation about race. And marcus has been leading the way. He had another special last night, race in america the conversation. Its one of those tough conversations, and a lot of people are wanting to have that conversation. I want to share with a we talked about last night. I spoke with quincy phillips, a community organizer, strategist, and he talked about what does it mean to be the only person of color in a boardroom where decisions are made. If im the only representative, the one black dude in Silicon Valley at that table, then obviously im not representing not just black people but all of the other folks that im supposed to represent, community members, community stakeholders. Theyre not just black. Theyre brown, theyre women, theyre lgbtq. There are so many folks that im representing. If my voice isnt there, if im not there, its not going to be talked about. You carry that responsibility and you carry it proud. I know you do because you have a lot of passion. Yes, sir. Certainly a great conversation last night. We had many people on here in the bay area. We had people sending in their questions from online. We were streaming on facebook and youtube, chris chmura was monitoring that. We were able to answer a lot of those questions and open the door to communication and understanding, laura. I think thats the big key. What were really trying to do with these conversations that were having, just trying to start the dialogue to understand it. Right, be open, and its okay to ask questions. Its how Everybody Needs to learn the answers. If you dont know. Viewers have been emailing you. Ive gotten a lot of emails how they appreciate being so open and honest and providing just a little bit more understanding about whats going on. It takes time and research and education on your own. Certainly they feel theyre getting more than they ever knew before. Thats good. Thats great. Well continue the conversation as well. Marcus, you will probably have more specials on it as well. Black housing and regarding Rock Building and training and developing our young people to feel empowered during the day. That is very important to us. We need to recognize juneteenth on a grander level. And we talked about recognizing a lot of mepeople never heard of juneteenth before. Talk to us about the importance of maybe even teaching this in schools. We both talked about growing up in school we didnt get taught what juneteenth was. You had to learn it later in life. Certainly. Its a requirement in college to take american history, but it was an option to take black history or africanamerican history. I believe we need to make sure africanamerican studies is a requirement in schools to teach about the history of africanamericans and how we have evolved in the country, how we have paved the way in many fronts and really did a lot of groundwork in how americas economic engine was developed through utilizing and abusing slaves and so juneteenth needs to be told and needs to be recognized across the land in all classrooms. All right. Black history is Truly American history. Milan balintin, thank you for joining us this morning. Thank you for having me. Happy juneteenth, everybody. Laura . There you go. Good to see.
