Police taking part as racial tensions continue to simmer. Reporter they laid out a National Reform plan they say they believe could really make a difference and it begins with several concrete steps. The three Police Unions took out ads saying there are no words to convey our disgust and sorrow over the murder of george floyd adding they have an obligation to take action. They are calling for a national use of force standard focusing on des esqescalation and to ide officers that might need more training. This comes after the death of george floyd at the hands of police and calls to defund them. We are serious about talking on a National Level about National Reform. Not just in the city of san jose. A national use of force policy. A National Database in regards to officers. They cant reenter the system if there was gross misconduct in the firing. The unions have always been so resistant to change and they have what they have. They want to keep what they have. They are critical of those that criticize them. We recognize we have problems with officers in the past. We are prepared to do better. We want to do that because we are at a moment in time where it appears that the country is ready for this to occur. We want it to be momentum. The attorney thinks it is a good first step but thinks that issues around body worn cameras should be included. Some are skeptical that any real change could come. They are saying bring the community to the table and have them have a role in policy and try working together. Today a car caravan in support of the black lives Matter Movement. Organized by a pair of suburban moms. They drove through the streets. They like that. They felt compelled to do something after watching the news and coverage of George Floyds death. New protests erupted in atlanta after a Deadly Police shooting. The police chief has stepped down. Anger remains. It was a destructive night as body camera footage emerged showing the deadly encounter. New protests and a wendys set on fire after an Atlanta Police officer shot and killed a black man in the restaurants parking lot. The 26yearold was found sleeping in his car in the drivethru and failed a sobriety test. It shows brooks resisting arrest, grabbing the officers taser, running away and then gunshots. The Georgia Bureau of investigation investigated. It appears like he points the taser at the officer. One officer fired and another placed on administrative duty. Demands for Police Reform grow louder congress is trying to find a compromise. Is there a path forward where we look at the necessity of in Law Enforcement community. Is there a path form. Atlantas mayor convened a committee. There is a legitimacy to the anger and the outrang. Outrage after the deaths of ahmaud arbery, breonna taylor, george floyd and others. Protesters want change and say they will not stop until it happens. More violence aimed at Law Enforcement. Police arrested two connected with a shooting. This happened northbound 238. Police shut down all of the northbound lanes of 238 while they investigated. The suspects are accused of shooting seven times from a blake Mercedes Sprinter van. In britain and in across europe antiracism protesters continue to deface and topple statues demonstrators surrounded the statue that has been boarded up saying that they are protecting it. Despite the breezy and cool start to the week we should see 90s and thursday and friday. We might see mid09s in the forecast. Cameron has been through so many ups and downs in her relatively short life wonder she findsrocks. This other. Reporter a journey that began five years ago office. I remember the day i was first diagnosed. Wow. Stage 3 cancer is what cameron was told back then, a cancer that has since gone only to return. The question that comes in my head, constantly, why me and why now type of thing. That is what a lot of people go through. It was while dealing with such heavy questions that cameron one day got a visit from jane, she introduced cameron to the meditative effect of rock painting but someone else opened her eyes to what it really could do. I think it thats do with one of the nurses that i had on the floor. Cameron sensed the nurse could use therapy herself and offered to paint with her. Very healing for me just to paint then. It would be great to also have it as a tool, i guess, to help ople. This is the fifth floor of the hospital. It worked so well cameron knew that she was on to something. She began leaving rocks with inspirational messages in a hospital courtyard garden for other patients, posting pictures of them on instagram and placing them around the community. Like on a hiking trail or by the sidewalk and if anyone sees it or wants to keep it take it for yourself because it sparked something in them. The rocks are for them. This young woman facing the most difficult times for herself had chosen to think of others. If she can do it why cant we all . I believe one act of kindness about definitely spark another.
