The Solano Town Center in fairfield reopens at 11 00 this morning and shoppers will soon see some changes. Not just people but cars must social distance. Theyll have to be parked at least six feet apart. Also a limited number of restrooms will be available for those shoppers. The state and Santa Clara CountyHealth Department are keeping a very close eye on morgan hill after a covid19 outbreak at a fish packing company. Were talking about a cluster of 40 Different Cases in just one work place, so clearly there is reason for concern here in Santa Clara County. This is a Fish Processing plant. This is a material that is going out into the public. The girlfriend of a driver at lusa america foods says her boyfriend knew people were testing positive for covid19 but was too afraid to raise concerns about continuing to work there. He was afraid to lose his job. She and others are calling for the plant to be shut down. They should shut down their company, test everybody. He was out in the public. He was always told that he would be fine, just to continue wearing a mask and do the proper precautions. The county stood up testing in collaboration with the company and over the course of a day tested everyone there and identified 38 more people who were positive from the company. Reporter Company Officials release aased a statement sayin that, quote, all employees at the facility have been tested. The majority are asymptomatic and those tested negative will be retested as a precaution. We do know there is more testing scheduled for lusamerica foods later on today. This is coming out of minneapolis and really across the country over the death of a black man who died while in police custody. Thats a protest happening in minneapolis. This is the video we were talking about. A bystander captured this incident. It appears to show that officer kneeling on George Floyds neck as he begged for help saying he couldnt breathe. Moments later he went limpless, he wasnt moving. Four Police Officers have been fired over this incident and death. However, lawyers for floyds family say it is not enough. The family believes as many of us that the findings by the police chief and the mayor was the first step to justice, but they want them charged to the full extent of the law. The fbi is now on this case and, of course, were going to keep a close eye on whats happening and will bring you those developments as they happen. More coronavirus news from the bay area. New cases keep popping up. There have now been nearly 13,000 cases. Theres actually a surge were seeing in Alameda County with 112 cases reported. Alameda county remains the hardest hit in the region. A new testing site is opening in Santa Clara County today. It is right off central expressway in mountain view. Testing will start at 9 00 this morning. It ends at 1 00 this afternoon. No appointment or insurance is needed. Another testing site will be available at a Shopping Center off story and king road in san jose on friday. Happening today Santa Clara County leaders will sound the call for more help in getting their Contact Tracer Program off the ground. Contact tracing is considered essential for slowing the spread. But a new mercury news report finds the county has only filled about 57 paid positions it planned to fill. They want to get those hires in place by july. The push is on adding volunteer help. San Francisco Mayor london breed is under fire this morning from homeless advocates with the posting of Text Messages showing her ordering police to conduct homeless sweeps. The San Francisco law firm that filed the classaction suit says ticketmaster changed its policy as the pandemic took hold. Here is what the suit says. On march 13th, the ticketmaster policy says refunds would be available for a canceled, postponed or rescheduled event. As of march 14th only canceled shows get refunds. With those tickets to postponed events, those folks have to wait. Ticketmaster says it has to see what the promoter or performer allows. Ticketmaster is the company that made the representation to consumers, set the policy for the ability to get a refund and took consumers money. Reporter ticketmaster says it doesnt comment on pending litigation. Ticketmaster announced it would give refunds for postponed events put on by live nation. Other events, however, remain in limbo.
